Brossart Mustang Senior Jacob Rieger informed me tonight that he has selected Hanover College to be his choice to attend school for the next four years and play his college basketball career.

He joins NCC's Grant Pangallo in choosing Hanover.

Hanover is an NCAA Division III program that plays in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference, where they finished in second place with a 12-4 conference record this past season. The Heartland conference also includes Anderson, Defiance, Transylvania, Manchester, Franklin, Mount St. Joe, Rose-Hulman and Bluffton.

Rieger is Brossart's sixth leading all-time career scorer with 1229 career points.

Jacob's choice was not an easy one, as he was presented with many outstanding opportunities by colleges such as Lynchburg (Virginia), Centre College, Transylvania, and others with whom Jake, his family, and our coaching staff became closely acquainted.

Coach Mike Code calls Hanover a "great fit" and feels that Jake could possibly contribute to the Panthers' program early in his career.

Hanover College is located in Hanover, Indiana, about 90 miles from Cincinnati, just west of Madison, Indiana.

Congratulations to Jacob Rieger.

The date/time of his signing ceremony will be announced when available.

Congrats to Jake and his family--Hanover is getting a good one!! Selfishly glad to hear he's staying close to home, so many of his fans can continue to watch his career in college!!

Congrats Jacob, Hanover is a great shcool.

Congrats to Jake and his family. He is a great kid and I have really enjoyed watching him play the last couple years.

As a supporter of Scott HS basketball I am really glad to see him graduate and head to college. Tired of watching him wear out the Eagles.

Good player and class young man. Hanover got a winner!

Congratulations to Jacob. He is a good kid and a good player. I bet Coach Mason at Centre and Coach Lane at Transy aren't happy to see him go to another DIII school.

The game-winner against East Carter at the AIT this season was some shot.

This was a very, very, tough choice for Jake.

He and his family became very close to the coaches from Centre, Transy, Lynchburg (Va), and others.

I'm sure it was extremely difficult to inform those coaches of his choice.

Great choice!!! Congrats!!!
