Just a note to anyone that may be attending tonight's game, all festivities will take place between games now. First the seniors will be honored followed by the honoring of Coach Kelsch.

Tomorrow night is Senior Night at Augusta where they'll be honoring Colton Fraysure, Stephen Gibbs and Jacob Kelsch who will be playing their last home game. They will also be honoring Coach Robin Kelsch who will be resigning at the end of this season, his 13th at Augusta. He has the most wins in school history and a list of other accomplishments as the Panther head coach. It will certainly be different not seeing him on the Augusta sideline The Panthers will face Williamstown. The jv game starts at 6pm with Senior Night activities taking place between games. The varsity game is scheduled to start at 7:30 pm and Robin will be honored at halftime of the varsity game. Hope to see a lot of people there. It was one of those things you knew you would always hear when you were in the Fieldhouse, the announcement of "your timekeeper, Mike "The Murph" Murphy." So sad that we'll not hear it again. May God be with his family in this tragic time. Prayers for them and the entire Mason County family from Augusta.

Who wins between Augusta and Bracken County? Or do I need to go watch?

I would love to hear from someone that was there how it is that the two teams combined for 37 points in the final ot. Just seems odd to me.

I got the snow favored by 3-6 on Thursday.

Augusta topped Silver Grove at home tonight, 86-51. Dalton Appelman led the Panthers with 16 points. Fraysure and Wyatt Thorpe scored 11 apiece and Tanner Kelsch chipped in with 10. Silver Grove's Jeremy Hammons led all scorers with 26 points. Augusta improves to 8-7 and will next play in the 10th Region All A Classic at Regents Hall on Thursday night at 8pm vs. Bishop Brossart.

Augusta raced out to a 22-10 lead after 1 quarter and kept their foot on the gas until the 4th quarter when they emptied the bench. Dalton Appelman led the Panthers with 18 points. He was joined in double figures by Colton Fraysure with 15 and Jacob Kelsch with 14. Panthers outrebound taller Cardinals 40-28 including 17 offensive rebounds.

Augusta wins their 3rd straight behind Colton Fraysure's 25 points. Jacob Kelsch added 15 and Dalton Appelman had 13. On to Maysville tomorrow night to face the Saints.

Great win for the Panthers tonight! Awesome team defense throughout. Pendleton County struggled to get anything consistent going in the halfcourt. Augusta next plays at Bourbon County on Friday night while Pendleton County has to shake this loss off quickly with Mason County coming to town tonight.

So sad to hear that. Hope she's back playing again quickly!!

Augusta - Colton Fraysure

Wait til' next year again for GRC. They've got to to be getting sick of saying that. From what I heard it sounds like they better work to win it next year instead of thinking it's a given. Congrats to Mason County for earning the title.

Can you imagine Augusta's concession stand choices at the Fieldhouse? Wow!! Small school, BIG concession stand!!

It would be nice if people who have pics of some of these palaces posted them. I look forward to every chance I get to see a gym I've never been in, large or small. Of the large ones listed I've been to the Fieldhouse, Henry County, Greenup County, GRC, Montgomery County and the Spectrum where St. Francis plays. Gotta love the history of some of these old gems!!

Jacob Kelsch, the starting center was ill and unable to play. He is a cousin of the head coach Robin Kelsch. Freshman Tanner Kelsch is the coach's son.

Kind of ironic that they are building a justice center in it's place after such a terrible injustice was done to that great old gym.

I think the cast of players around the King twins has gotten less and less talented as they've gone through school. They are both very skilled players but they cannot do it alone.

Very hard fought intense game. Both teams hustled and fought from beginning to end. It was as exciting a girls game as I've seen in awhile. Congrats to Coach Kelsch and the Lady Bears. Best of luck at the state tournament.

If Coach Henley was attempting to send a message then good for him doing it in a tight game. Give other players an opportunity to step up and perform. Sends a strong message here as opposed to sitting them when they are up 30 points, what would that prove? Kudos to PC for a good effort.

Congrats to Coach Persinger and the Polar Bears for bouncing back to win two tough ones after the loss to Cordia. Hope Persinger continues to keep the naysayers quiet.

Panthers come back from as many as 21 down to win. St. Patrick led 52-40 going into the 3rd quarter. Augusta dropped in 39 4th quarter points!!!! Colton Fraysure scored 19 of his career high 29 points in the 4th. Great first win for the Panthers!!!
