Right now I would rank Rowan anywhere between 5th and 9th in the 16th region. With only one player returning that played significant minutes last year, inexperience could pose a problem.

25-17, 25-19 Final, in Raceland. Hard fought game for both teams, congrats to Rowan coming out on top.

Any thoughts on the 16th region top five or top six?

Any comments or thoughts on this matchup? I know earlier this year Raceland came out on top 11-1.

Boyd was not very disciplined at the plate, Hieneman had great command even with the tight strike zone. Great win for Greenup in a great overall game.

Looks pretty good to me. I think Rowan will surprise some people this year with only one key player lost last year and returning 12 seniors. The pitching staff looks strong led by the lefty Matt Martin. They could be dangerous at years end and there might even be a possible early upset in the March 27th game vs. Boyd.

I dont know if anybody follows 16th region baseball but I think there could be some surprisingly good talent come out of this region from teams like East Carter, Rowan, Raceland, Greenup, and maybe even Fairview. There wont be a dominant team next year but anybody could step up to win and maybe even make some noise at the state level. I cant wait until March. Anybody have any comments?

I would love to see Russel pull this one out and win back to back, but I dont think that will happen. I believe Mercer is just the better team. My Presdiction: Mercer- 28 Russel- 17

Bath is 4-1 with wins over West Carter, Morgan, Lewis and Fairview and the loss to LCA. Their running game has been the key to those victories.

Well played tournament all around, embarrasing fans from Russel and Rowan though. Stay out of it and let the girls play! Set's up for Rowan vs. Russel regional championship game, should be great!

Don't underestimate Rowan, they will be pumped up riding momentum from the rivalry win vs. Morgan last week. I'm still picking Raceland in a close one. Raceland 31 Rowan 28

In reguard to helping players hit a curveball, I had some success with this: During BP, tell the batter you are going to throw him 10 pitches, alternating fastball and curveball, he knows its coming, have him keep his hands back, it's usually the change of speed that fools the hitter, as much or more than the flight of the ball. You have to stay back, to hit the breaking pitch.
