  1. Happiness is a THANKSGIVING DAY Practice ….. Only a few teams get to say that. Congrats to all teams / fans in all classes that have advanced this far. :thumb: :thumb:
  2. RAMS ….. You are one step away from Lexington. Like each week before, this game will be Won / Lost on how you prepare this week and Execute on Friday night. Dicipline + Commitment + Toughness + Effort + Pride = RAM VCTORY !
  3. Here's a link to a preview of the KY. "Final Fours" ……. 2
  4. Raceland has to not give up the "big play". One or two big plays were the deciding W/L factor in each Ram loss this season. I agree that Raceland needs to control the time of possession / clock and keep the powerful Panther offense on their sidelines as much as possible. Doing that means controlling the line of scrimmage. Whoever wins the l.o.s. will probably go on to the big grocery store in Lexington called Kroger Stadium / Field (that will always be Commonwealth Stadium to me).
  5. Doc mentioned the "home team" stat / advantage that I was going to mention. One would think that the visiting team may sneak in a win somewhere but this has been a home team series. Now, every time I think of playing at Pikeville my mind goes straight to that one night that Raceland lost a fan, the Rams QB lost his father to a heart attack while watching his son play football. I can't remember the year right now. I do remember how the Pikeville fans, hospital staff and their team, community helped anyway they could. That tragedy re affirmed to all of us that although we discuss an important game and want to win …. it's not really that important at all. Sorry, I didn't mean to get off subject. Just wanted to share …... Now lets get back to discussing this game.
  6. On a personal note, I didn't get home to get the webcast on until around 8pm. I was undergoing a chemotherapy infusion, a very aggressive treatment for severe primary progressive M.S. at Cabell-Huntington hospital. Needless to say, I am whipped. So, after a terrible day for me, this game and these kids gave me a reason to smile ….
  7. These two teams left it all out on the field in another instant classic. Raceland's QB, S. Heighton made a TD pass out of what was looking like a disaster. Also, H. Lacks led the Rams rushing with 40yds against a very tough Tiger defense and fought thru, bounced off tackles to get every inch of that. J. Adkins pulled the Rams out of holes by stepping in the slot that injured D. Atkins usually plays. Also, the ever reliable Rams Orange Crush Defense made big stops all night. Survive and advance Congrats to the Paintsville Tigers on another very good season. There's a lot of respect here in Raceland for Paintsville football.
  8. :dancingpa GREAT JOB RAMS ! This team just refuses to lose.
  9. Thank you Ram, All State Baseball for posting. I literally just got home from the hospital around 30 min. ago. I have had a full round of Chemotherapy (Ocrevus med. for severe / progressive M.S. ) which started this morning at Cabell / Hunt'gton Hospital . To say the least, I'm beat. Otherwise I would be posting BTW @Ram … I have to leave for ONE game, and you have us behind ! :irked:, :lol2:
  10. Rams , No speeches for this one. I'll just leave one Quote …….. "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious" — Vince Lombardi NOW ……..LET'S ROLL !
  11. Thank you from this Rambler …. Both Raceland and Paintsville have winning traditions but we are all chasing your Beechwood program:thumb:.
  12. Here's yet another comparison / connection that Ashland and Raceland has between the schools, we both have district, region rivals in Paintsville and this season, have to beat a Paintsville / JC teams at their place. I would Love to see Ashland win this one. Considering that the game is in Paintsville and the result of the first one, JC is the smart pic. I have been called a lot of things in my time on bgp but smart has never been one of them ….. Ashland wins this one by 6.
  13. Finally … a pro PHS post :thumb: ! Personally, I enjoy both fan bases chiming in
  14. BTW …. Where are all of the Raceland fans that used to post on here ? C;mon people, @sidelinedoc, @Ram and myself can't do it all :idunno:, get with it people !
  15. Through my years on BGP, I have eaten enough crow that I have developed quite a taste for it. I would love to have another big plate of crow with a Red Devil win.
  16. As @sidelinedoc said ….I hope that we can keep it close. I've said over and over again that Paintsville is one of if not the toughest places to play in the state. I am picking my Rams by heart …. Raceland 20 Paintsville 15
  17. Raceland / Paintsville This now "Annual" meeting for a title has been a great one. This is a true rivalry bc of each and every meting is for a district and/or region championship. Two of the hardest hitting teams you will find.
  18. I agree, the kid imo has a future playing at the next level if that's what he wants.
  19. That's becoming a regular scheduled game. I just want more of them to be played at our place, but they earned it by winning the district. Personally, I consider Paintsville to be maybe the toughest place in the state to go in and get a W.
  20. Back to Paintsville for another Region Championship game.
  21. Prayers going out for Raceland's Dalton Atkins, he was hurt when punting … had a PF / Roughing kicker. We did get an update on Atkins . there were no broken bones in leg / foot
  22. Yes, there were several PF calls on both teams. I hate seeing games get Chippy like this one did.
