  1. Thanks to @Colonels_Wear_Blue and all others for the schedules. Although I'm not sure if I will be able to be on here as much as in the past, I'm looking forward to high school football getting started again. Good luck to all teams (unless you happen to be playing Raceland on a particular night  ) and most important, may all teams / players stay injury free.
  2. I've been wondering on that one myself, seeing how should both advance they play in the state semi finals. Then again, we've had to end up playing Paintsville in the dist. and then again in a Region championship.
  3. This is the first time that the Raceland schedule has had several changes in quite a while. 1A EKY Power Pikeville has been added as well as Betsy Lane has been added to the district with 4A Rowan as a new EKC contest. Our game with Russell is moved to early season and the Rams open up w / Greenup Co. while the Ashland game flipped to closer to mid season, where GC used to be. As always with the Rams. this is an extremely tough road for what will be imo a team not as strong as in the past several years. Raceland has been blessed w / several strong classes coming through in consecutive years. The cupboard will not be bare by any stretch, just not as deep as in the past 4-8 yrs. I'm looking forward to next season but hey, this is Raceland.
  4. 2019 Raceland Rams Football Schedule Aug 16 East Carter at Raceland (Grid) Aug 24 Greenup at Raceland Aug 31 Russell at Russell Sept 6 Rowan Co. at Rowan Sept 13 Pikeville at Pikeville Sept 20 OPEN Sept 27 Portsmouth West at Raceland Oct 4 Ashland at Ashland Oct 11 Betsy Lane at Raceland (District) Homecoming Oct 18 Fairview at Raceland (District) Oct 25 Paintsville at Paintsville (District) Nov 1 Lawrence Co. at Raceland
  5. BTW Beechwood …. WHY didn't you guys leave 1A a couple or more years earlier ? Raceland may have had a state title.
  6. I picked Beechwood to win, will pick them until someone beats them. I do think that this one will be a close game. Something like 24-19 Beechwood.
  7. I said that as well at the start of the season. Raceland beat Pikeville in 2017 to advance to the finals. That P'Ville team that Raceland beat was basically the same team (w/ another year's experience, bigger, stronger) that beat us last Friday. The Panther team in 17' was dominated by underclassmen.
  8. Probably was the very first mistake that I've ever made on here … :sssh:. Of course, I also have some prime beach front condo's at the Worthington gravel pit that I will sell … cheap !
  9. You are correct, my mistake. I thought of that on Sat. am, (that I may had said that) and just hadn't been back online till' now. That 60 was from the last 6 years. I believe that a few of this class did dress / possibly had played some on the FR. team but I wasn't talking about that. Completely my mistake, I apologize. My brain farts have landed here before. Of course, 4 consecutive 15-0 / State Championship seasons sounds really nice, if only were true :lol2:
  10. These Raceland kids have nothing to hang their heads about. They made a run / comeback in the 3rd qtr. that showed me a lot. Being shut out in the 1st half, down by 3 + td's the Rams defense had made adjustments at half and stormed back. I am sure that these kids will be down for a while but I would urge them to look back on this season as another proud one in the Raceland tradition. These Ram Seniors have finished their career with 60 wins, 4 Regional Titles , 4 State Semi's/ Final Fours and a 1A State finals appearance along w / 3 (maybe 4?) EKC Championships, 3 Rail Cities Bowl wins (over rival Russell, 4 Iron Bowl wins (over GCHS) . RAMS , from this old fart of a fan... Thank You. To the Seniors ….. Once a Ram, Always a Ram :thumb:
  11. Congrats to Pikeville on the win. Your Panthers were the better team on this night :thumb:. Good luck next week
  12. Maybe combine this one into the other. Thanks
  13. Congrats to Pikeville on the W.
  14. That last stop pretty much closed out any chance.
  15. That big run that the Pville kid made on their last drive was only his 2nd carry of the season.
  16. I remember back in the day, Dick Colvin yelling, telling them to grab em' at another area of the anatomy.
  17. Maybe, just maybe ….
  18. Looks like your winner will be playing Pikeville next week.
  19. Pikeville's O line is moving Raceland's off the line, that hasn't happened to the Rams defense much at all this season.
  20. It's gut check time now. This Rams possession will be key.
  21. Was good to hold them to a fg on a 1st / goal.
  22. Thank you GRD. :thumb:
  23. RAMS ….My message is the same as last week, this quote says it all ….. "I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle - victorious" — Vince Lombardi LET'S ROLL
