  1. Paris has one quality that Raceland has had trouble with …. speed. A game in early season, Raceland outplayed Ashland all night, had advantage in practically every game stat and lost on Ashland's speed. They had a couple of kids that are speed on top of speed and two big plays w / them breaking for a td beat us. I realize that Paris is in no way comparable to Ashland but my point was the speed is one thing that you can't prepare for and that's burned us in the past. I think that Raceland's size, experience and depth will win out. Paris may get loose for a score a time or two, then overall the Rams wear the Hounds down. Raceland 35 - 13
  2. On a side note, Kudos to MyTown T.V. for showing this one. Being disabled, I rarely if ever can get to a game and I, for one appreciate being able to watch my Rams play.
  3. Raceland came out in this one focused on the playoff run. Obviously working on their passing game, QB Heighton connected with different receivers for TD's. With a balanced attack of run, pass and special teams (punt return for TD) along with another solid defensive effort, the Rams got the game to a running clock w/ 6min. in the 2nd qtr.. A lot of younger players (JV, Fr. teams) saw a lot of playing time and that can only help them in game experience if called on in the rest of the playoff games. Bishop Brossart had some good athletes and their kids played hard, never quit throughout this one. I wish the Mustangs and their fans a safe trip home. Rams … Enjoy this one tonight and then tomorrow, get your mind focused on Paris. It's the playoffs … Survive and Advance.
  4. Congrats to the Tomcats and take it all the way !
  5. Congrats to the Red Devils :thumb:
  6. someone else may have to post final, I am still having I-net problems
  7. Rams now lead 40 - 0 w/ 6min. in 2nd qtr. Running clock Will post final.
  8. TD Rams, 75yd. punt return - Lewis. 2pt. conv. good 14-0 Rams
  9. TD Rams, xp-ng. 15yd pass Heighton to D. Atkins 6-0 Rams
  10. Having a lot of I-Net problems, will try to update on scores
  11. Good luck to the Red Devils !
  12. Played a game on it last week during a heavy rain. That, with more rain this week, again earlier today then again overnight with a forecast of possible light rain / drizzle tonight, the field will obviously be wet. Should hold up well with the new surface / Bermuda grass that was installed in the Spring/Summer.
  13. ATTN: RAM Seniors …….. This will be the final home football game that you will play on this field / Ram Stadium. How do you want your last game performance to be remembered ? From around 4-7 years old playing flag football to the "big guy" feeling you had actually getting to wear pads / helmets in going through the age groups/levels of JFL …. to then moving to 7th & 8th grade levels Jr. High, actually loading on the bus, making the "road trips" and playing at other schools..... Now your moving up once again to the Freshmen team, actually practicing on the same field as the JV & Varsity Rams and some of you with the JV team and dressing with the Varsity …… Then your on the Varsity Raceland Rams Football ! …. What I am getting at is for you Seniors to take a few moments and reflect back on all of the meetings, practices, games that you guys have played from a 5 year old not really knowing what football was to preparing for and Playing in multiple 1A District, Region Championship games and last season making it to Lexington and Commonwealth Stadium / Kroger Field playing for a 1A State Championship ! Think back on all of the weight training, conditioning / running, Spring practices, Summer workouts and Fall/Pre Season Camps …. all of the Sweat, Laughs, Celebrations and yes, the Tears at times poured out with your teammates, friends and coaches through All of These Years. Again, How do You Want it to End ? At the end of the game YOU and Only You Will Know if You Gave All That You Have In You.What's it Going to Be ? MAKE IT HAPPEN !
  14. Could a Mod put a poll on this thread ? Thank you.
  15. Yes, Raceland should win. Having said that, I am always worried when playing a NKY team. Most NKY schools / teams play a pretty good brand of football. Through the years I have found that looking at a NKY teams schedule / W-L record can be very deceiving. All teams in that area are pretty good and a bad or average record is bc they are playing good teams. Several years have found a lower NKY seed have beaten the higher seed from other areas. As for this one … as in any game, imo Raceland's O and D line play will tell the story on the outcome. Most games, our size / depth on the line has worn the opposition down as the game goes on. Raceland's losses and close games came when the line play was matched. The Rams LB's have also played very good this season. I hope that the travel / weather conditions are good for the Brossart fans, team drive in and that regardless of the outcome that both teams stay injury free. BTW, Thanks @Mustang for your info.
  16. First of all, There's no doubt that I've had my problems, disdain for Fairview, that's been well known thru the years. This post has nothing to do with that. So now,... After the 2017 season, I had heard talk of the school possibly losing their football program. I don't know how true that is. What I want to say / do is I want to give credit to the Fairview players that held on thru this season and especially to the Cooksey's in coaching, keeping the Fairview program going. That took a love of the school and kids in that community, I'm honestly saying this meaning no disrespect, I really mean to give credit to where it belongs,
  17. Corbin in a quick running clock. Corbin … play your JV team.
  18. Sorry, didn't see it. Hopefully a Mod can combine them
  19. Another Rail Cities Bowl Win for the Rams ! Raceland's ORANGE CRUSH Defense made the stops they had to along w/ getting the key turnover ... fumble recovery on the one yd. line leading to the winning TD. Defense dominated for both teams. Another good, hard hitting game between two of NEKY's Premier programs. Rain like it was tonight is the great equalizer in this kind of game. Congrats to Rams LB, Sr. Nolan Smith for being named the MVP for Raceland. I'm sorry that I couldn't quite hear the name of the Russell MVP (Jenkins, I believe). Good luck to Russell in the playoffs next week . Rams … Enjoy this one tonight, this weekend. Starting on Monday, get ready for Bishop Brossart coming in for the first round playoff.
  20. FINAL I didn't see this one posted yet
  21. Great win for the Rams ! Raceland's ORANGE CRUSH Defense made the stops they had to along w/ getting the key turnover ... fumble recovery on the one yd. line leading to the winning TD. 22. I'm here, watching the webcast …. Go Rams
  23. :thumb: I'll consider your warning, then probably order another popcorn. :lol2:
  24. Rams, Just Two Words... it's Russell !…………….. LET'S ROLL !!
  25. Should a person be looking to pick on who's hot right now, that would be Russell. After weathering a bad start (w / one of those L's to a very good, high ranked 4A Ashland), T.J. Maynard's Red Devils have been on a roll and aren't showing any sign of slowing down. Especially to little 1A Raceland. This is a rivalry / trophy game for a bragging rights for a year with no playoff implications. After their loss tomorrow night , I wish Russell the best of luck on their 3A playoff run.
