Which game in the 1A Regional Championship will be the most competitive? Why will it be that way?

Raceland vs. Paintsville

Beechwood shouldn't break much of a sweat, and I think Pikeville wins comfortably. Campbellesville and Crittenden County looks good on paper, but they don't have the recent history that Raceland/Paintsville does. The Rams and Tigers don't know how to play each other any other way than with great competitiveness.

If it read Pikeville vs Hazard would you say Pikeville wins comfortably? Not sure if Hazard has some injuries, but Williamsburg's score vs Hazard last week looks a little better then Pikeville's score vs Hazard! I agree the Paintsville vs Raceland game is probably the best, but that Pikeville/Williamsburg game should be competitive. Williamsburg also played a competitive game with Paintsville.

When healthy, I think Pikeville is the best team in the eastern half of 1A by at least two scores. Williamsburg has put together a great year, and that win over Hazard was one of the real eye catching scores from last Friday, but they gave up 44 points to Lynn Camp a few weeks ago. Pikeville just manhandled that same Lynn Camp squad last week in every phase. They're just rolling right now. If the Panthers overlook Williamsburg, they could be in for a long night. But I can't imagine McNamee allowing his guys to overlook anyone this time of year. I think Williamsburg will see the the sharpest, best prepared version of the Panthers. If that's the case, give me Pikeville by three touchdowns. I fully expect Williamsburg to put up a fight, though. They won't roll over.

Cook went down in the first quarter for Lynn Camp, don’t kid yourself if you don’t think that made a huge difference.

It's hard for me to kid myself if I don't have the whole story. Now I do. I'm still taking Pikeville by three touchdowns.

This has to be Raceland and Paintsville. The game least likely to be close is Beechwood and Frankfort. The other two games it is hard to say.

I expect to have an ulcer by the end of the 3rd qtr of our game @ Paintsville.

Raceland / Paintsville

This now "Annual" meeting for a title has been a great one. This is a true rivalry bc of each and every meting is for a district and/or region championship. Two of the hardest hitting teams you will find.

I'll come back and say I agree it's priobably Racelande/Paintsville on paper but outside of Beechwood/Frankfort the other three should all three be good games with a lot on the line.

I'd rank them:

1. Crittenden County/Campbellsville

2. Raceland/Paintsville

3. Pikeville/Williamsburg

4. Beechwood/Frankfort

The first three should all be good games. I'd be higher on Pikeville/Williamsburg if Williamsburg was the home team. Only Beechwood/Frankfort looks to have a pretty wide gap in teams.
