Public schools don't ALWAYS work that way, there are other people above the School principal. A principal's choice isn't ALWAYS the best choice. Most applications are sent to the Board of Education and the AD. The AD has more knowledge of what is needed than a principal.

Just commenting on the big head. Just for reference Arnold is a cartoon character. I'm glad he thinks highly of himself, but I don't think if he took an approval rating poll in Fleming right now he would even get close to the president's approval rate. :eek:

Question, On the KHSAA posted job openings, most of the job openings ask for letters of interest to be sent to the AD. Why does the Fleming opening want the people interested in the job to contact Sorrell and not the athletic director or the superintendent like the other schools? Is the choice left up to Sorrell to pick someone he likes and not necessarily the best person for the job?

Messer the former coach at Fleming County is a good coach. He had very little talent, but boys that worked hard, and was able to knock off more experienced teams form different regions.

Coach Messer was there for three years and was well known throughout the 10th region.

It is great to be the champion of any tournament and I think everyone would agree. But regardless of which tournament showcases the best talent and most of the time it's not the sweet-16, Every team in the state dreams of being known as the state champions and taking their place in the history of high school basketball.

Coach Messer is a teacher of the game in every aspect and has proven it around the different regions. This is just one of the results IMO and not trying to knock Moore's b-ball knowledge. However, the grapevine in town says that a certain faculty member has made several negative comments about Coach Moore's questionable coaching plans in the last few games of the season.:sssh:

Most schools would love to have neighbors or imports, but like the winning tradition. Question for you, didn't Clark have a winning season, because of visiting neighbors or imports. My thought on fit, just because a shoe looks good, it doesn't mean it feels as good.

In regard to the post about mason and the region. Who had the home court advantage in this game?

I have members of my family that coach, ref, teach, play, and are part of the administration in school districts. I am fully aware of the politics and deomographics of high school sports. They don't think it should be classified and don't care about the public/private debate. I think a whole lot of the problem has to do with transfers. A team in the tenth benefited from transfers, a team in the 16th had a transfer, and numerous post have been talking about transfers. Everyone wants to play on a successful team. But if everyone is determined that b-ball should be classified then divide it into four regions (North, South, East, and West) and everyone can play with teams that they have more in common with.

I still don't think it should be classified. I played high school b-ball and thought I could play with anyone in the state. If you are telling smaller schools they can't only compete with smaller schools what example are you setting for them later in life. Life is not fair, but anymore I not sure how fair all aspects of sports are becoming. I have heard many disturbing things.

IMO leave high school basketball the way it is. I agree that larger schools have more students to select from, but hard work and determination can overcome talent. The mountain schools have kids that are as talented as any where else in the state. However, many kids decide not to play high school ball after the middle school years for one reason or another. When the ball is thrown up anything can happen! That's what's so great about basketball and tournament time.

Officials from different regions call different even though the rules are the same. I have watched the BBA officials and weren't impressed with many of them. Every region has bad officials, honest officials, what I call home officials, and officials that will determine the outcome of the game. Some regions will let players bang under the board, some protect the shooter, and some focus on hand-checks. When teams go to different regions. that is one of the main complaints. As far as trading refs during the region, there are always connections.

Is Somerset looking to replace their boy's basketball coach?

Is Powell looking for a new coach?

If you are a coach in that region, you shouldn't need a pass.

I think the sessions should not be split. Teams should be able to play in front of a full gym. This type of atmosphere makes the tournament more exciting and energy from the first came seems to carry over to the second game. The split sessions are for money.
