Totally agree, they are working very hard to turn the program around very quickly. The future seems very bright, and to bring in local in state talent to help with this not only helps now but also in the future, local recuiting ties and attendence, local boosters etc.

Good Luck Siixers In the State Tournament, this is a fun team to watch. They play extremely hard and usually throw a few runs on the board.

15-13, Ashland Post 76 winner. After a 4 hr. rain delay.

Talk about a good win in a hostle enviroment, playing the host team and fans are outnumbered like 300-8 and they were vocal. A couple were extreme as they came to our side of the field and went to the dugout fence and wanted a piece of our coaching staff. When Shelbyville went ahead 5-1 and fans were really vocal, sixers bowed their neck and showed a lot of grit, they shut shelbyville down and started chipping away and got it done. Good win.

Fyffe did throw for the sixers all 9, sixers play for championship sat at 6 in shelbyville. State starts wed. at Boyd Co. with 4 games not sure what time sixers play but being the host team surely it will be an evening game.

Nice come from behind victory for the sixers they showed a little grit, bats were a little flat early may have been due to a fine effort by Oldhams pitcher nice lefty with control. Anybody know his name and where he plays, he is a good one. Super effort by sixers Justin Blanton 8+ innings on a very warm day, looked like he was throwing just as hard at the end.

Starts Aug. 8-12 at Boyd Co. Larry Addington field, Pretty sure fridays games are gonna be played at Russell High School, because of a football scrimmage game at Boyd Co.

Won the Boyd Co. tournament this past weekend going 4-0, next stop will be this weekend in Danville against some really nice teams.

Nice win over a good Ceredo-Kenova team in Boyd Co. tournament. Cory Clark strokes ball 3 of a intentional walk up the middle to allow the winning run to score from third base in extra innings, tuff way to lose one.

After a slow start the sixers have come together to become a very solid team. They have won something like 15 of their last 20 and seem to be a very solid looking team heading down the home stretch. They hit the ball well up and down the lineup and are solid defensively, with 3 or 4 nice pitchers this team has a chance to win each time it takes the field. The most noticable thing with watching this team the last couple of weeks is how they have evolved into a team instead of a bunch of indivuals playing the game. If they improve as much over the next 2 weeks as they have the last 2 this could be a very good team come tourny time.

Congrats to Perk, Quality left hander who came into his own this season and got better as the season went on. I will agree with the article in the paper that if he continues to work hard his best baseball is ahead of him. Nasty off speed stuff to go along with a mid-80"s fastball. Still would have liked to have seen Perk get a start in the regional tournament.:cry:

These are the same rules AABC has played in Boyd Co. area for 10-15 years. Thought it was a new age group there for a second:D .

Anybody know why the pitcher from Heath was limping badly the whole game, he pitched a gutty game as he was obviously in pain. Great 1st round game by both teams.

Cox from PRP is a super pitcher, they will have to prove they can win at this level without him on the mound. They had a meltdown against Beechwood last year in tourny getting beat like 7-0 and Beechwood only had 2 hits.

Greenup throws their ace and loses, NL still to throw theirs. Does not look good for GC as their other pitchers are very hittable, but as someone said earlier its not over. Good Luck to both teams.
