My statement was directed towards RA09, who seems to be making up false information to elicit some type of negative response. I for one believe all the coaches in the 16th Region have nothing but respect and admiration for the athletes at Elliott County. They play the game with heart and desire which isn't always the case in high school athletics. Good luck to both teams and may the best team win.

The people from Elliott County are amazing. You would do anything to discredit coaches and players from around the region. I know you have a "great" team but they are beatable. Does this mean it will happen by an in region team, I'm not for sure, but I hope so.

The dead period officially begins on June 25 and ends on July 10. It is a two week dead period for all sports and happens to be quality time for both coaches and players to go on vacation or just take a break from their individual sport.

The only coaching position that Morgan County has open at the present time is the Head football position. Coach Perry has not resigned to my knowledge. If anyone has anything different please feel free to respond.

Not just in the 80's and 90's but also from 00-04. Theres alot of teams in those years who would dominate the region today and could possible get deep into the state tourny IMO because the state is so week.

You're right but do you think some of these teams could play with the teams that were power houses from the past years? Same for the 16th?

I can think of many teams from the 16th from the past five years that would walk through this region hands down that were merely compitive in the time they played in. IMO the whole state is as weak as it ever has.

If you call Maynard shooting 27 footers time after time down the floor good looks then a good look needs to be redefined because last I checked that is a very low percentage shot. Congrats to Coach Johnson and the rams they played alot harder than elliot last night and got 7 footers rather than 27 footers and that was the difference in the ball game.

He is def. a good ball player. Everyone is saying hes top 3 based on what he did to Ashland the first round. If he had not done that alot of people wouldn't even have him in their top 10 which he is very worthy of.

In the regional tourny its all about defense. Hardly ever do we see a score in the 60's and very rarely the 70's. Ashland 56 Elliot 49

That explains the low scoring out come.

That is a really bad shooting night. How did Russell shoot? Any team with numbers like that usually lose.

I wouldn't be surprised if we seen Greenup playing Saturday night for the right to go to Rupp for the first time since the Ward era. They are very athletic and quick on offense and shot it as well as anyone left. Combine that with their exceptional defense and they could really make some noise.

The question is: How does Russell only score 24 points? WOW
