  1. I thought PRP's game plan to slow the game down and stick to it really frustrated East. East struggled all night to get good shots vs PRP's match-up zone. PRP didnt press and East got no points at all in transition. Honestly East looked confused and frustrated all night. They looked a step slow especially when PRP forced them to play man. They just drove right around them.
  2. I love Hawkins game but if Im voting for Mr. Basketball I think Willis is the best player in the state. He scores, rebounds, handles the ball, defends the post, blocks/alters shots, and is un-selfish. On any other team he would average 30pts ppg.
  3. I was thinking the same thing. Thomas was first team all 6th region and has made the all tournament teams in The KOB, Barnstorm Classic in Fl, and the LIT. I think Fairdale's other Jr Caleb Longacre deserves a tryout the way he's steeped up as of late. How was the Jr's selected.
  4. St. X is always ahead of teams early in the year. They run a lot of sets and seem to be in midseason form early. Problem is teams start catching up especially after getting film and prepare for what they run. The two Fairdale games for example. The first game X out executed Fairdale late in the game and Fairdale made several key turnovers that allowed them to pull away 75-61. In the LIT game Fairdale was much more prepared for what X run. When X went to their backdoor plays Fairdale kids were calling it out and caused X to turn it over late and win the game 55-52. Notice the point differential. As far as who's playing and who's not I cant answer to that I'm not in the inner circle of X basketball. I would think it would be hard to come out late from football and be able to run all the sets St. X does. Whether its a good system or not, not all kids can handle playing in a structured system. Coach Klein is a class act and I would find it hard to believe he would keep kids over other kids if he thought they would help X win.
  5. Fairdale only led Holy Cross 56-46 heading into the 4th but broke the game open with a 31 pt 4th quarter to win going away. Sr Darren Lowry one of the states leading fg percent shooters (62%) went 12 for 12 from the field and led Fairdale with 25 pts. Josh Payne also went 9 for 9 from 2pt range and added 18 points, 7 rebs, 8 assist, and 4 steals. Jr Cory Thomas added 17 pts and Boo Crabtree had 11pts and 9 rebs. Jr point guard Caleb Longacre added 8 assist. Fairdale had 30 assist for the game. The Bulldogs will play PRP Friday night at Fairdale for the District Title. On a side note Josh Payne is becoming a regular at Bellarmine Games. Bellarmine is showing a lot of interest in Josh and he will attend their home game tonight.
  6. Again where has the KHSAA violated Title IX? Title IX is about comparable facilities and equal spending. Doesn't really matter what it cost to rent Rupp vs Diddle. What would be a violation is if during the state tournament the participating girls team did not get the same amount of money for expenses(rooms. meals) as the boys. If this was a Title IX violation you can bet it would be addressed and the girls would have to play in Rupp the same as boys. The only issue between Rupp and Diddle is seating capacity. Diddle accomodates the girls crowd. If the crowds get bigger and outgrow it, I believe they would try and move it in a second. If you really want to stir the pot, request an audit of what the KHSSA spends on itself during these tournaments. They all stay in hotels and charge all their meals. All the while most teams lose money that participate in the tournament. They dont even pay for all of your rooms. You get a certain amount of money for rooms/meals based on a number of players.
  7. NCAA womans Final four in New Orleans Areana 18,500. NCAA Mens Final Four Georgia Dome 60,000 plus. I would assume under some of the arguments given under Title IX this would be a violation. I havent heard Geno complain yet though. Like I said before, If the girls moved to the YUM Center it wouldnt be good enough. Its all about comparable facilities. I have yet to hear a good argument as to why Rupp is better than Diddle for the Girls tournament other than UK plays there.
  8. What makes Rupp better than Diddle? Number of seats, prestiege, or UK plays there. Diddle has history, on a college campus, and has better seating. Playing the girls in Diddle is not going to be a title IX violation. Its the same arugment every year. Its basically a UK thing. The girls want to play in Rupp. You would probably have people complain if the girls played their finals in the Yum Center.
  9. Fairdale was up 6 at the half 37-31. PRP came back and took a 2 point 55-53 lead at the end of the 3rd. After that it was all PRP. Fairdale looked frustrated and couldnt score. PRP held Crabtree to 1 point. Fairdale relies on all 5 of their starters to produce and right now they are inconsistent.
  10. KHSAA is so mad at Trinity they decided to put Holy Cross on probation again. They aint doing anything that any other school in Jeff. co is doing public or private.
  11. Most of these kids and several from PRP all played at Prairie Village little league: Ferriell, Willman, Goodman, Lewis, Groah,Thrasher, Carden, and Blevins for Butler. Johnson and Beams for PRP. Carden's dad was League president. They had some good all star teams a few years back. Its a shame that AAU baseball has kind of watered down little leagues. PV was fun place to be on Saturdays.
  12. I would have to mention Dallas Adkins. He might be their best player when healthy. Its a shame he has so much trouble with his back.
  13. I also heard that with Ft.Knox expanding it was built to possibly draw those kids and families. Heard from a JCPS athletic director that the Federal Government agreed to chip in 5 million to the project but required it to be the closest school to Ft. Knox. No proof of that just what the guy said. I think it will get better over time. Agree with the lobby, concessions, and entrance being to close together and not big enough. It would have been nice to have some chairback seats also. bleachers are tough to sit through for 4 straight games.
  14. Just saw the foul call pretty bad call. Congrats to Trinity. 6th and 7th region tournaments should be fun
  15. Fairdale rallies from an early 13 point deficit and 5 down to start the 4th quarter to avenge an earlier loss to X. Fairdale will advance to face the winner of Butler vs Eastern Friday at 7pm. Fairdale's Josh Payne needs just 2 points to achieve 1,000 points for his career.
  16. Only eight Louisville schools reporting. If everyone posted their stats it would certainly change some but those are still pretty good individual and team stats.
  17. Yes. Shame schools dont do it. Great recognition for your players throughout the state. KHSAA should make it mandatory.
  18. Looking at UK's football schedule this year I see no reason why UofL couldnt be 10-2 or 9-3 heck even better than that. No Bama,LSU, or Texas Am on the schedule and home games with South Carolina and Georgia. If I remember right didnt UK almost beat Ga. This years schedule was one of the weakest UK has had to play. Heck we just spanked Florida and I would give one of the losses to Florida. Alot different playing in the Swamp than in the sugar bowl. The three toughest games would have been Ga & USC at home and maybe Arkansas even though they underachieved. The SEC is the best conference and has good football every weekend. but this Louisville team proved they could compete vs that schedule and with everyone back next year also.
  19. No comparison right now. UK fans think Louisville couldnt compete against their schedule and they just beat your second best team in the conference pretty easy. Interesting to see how fans still dont give any credit. They had a month to prepare. Funny so did Florida. Not surprised though.
  20. Looks like Florida needed another month to prepare. Can't beat an sec school. How long had it been since UK beat Florida?
  21. I asked a similar question to an official after a youth league game I witnessed. A player went to the wrong basket and shot and was fouled in the act of shooting. The official did not really have an answer. After checking on it, he called me back and said that it could be a foul but the player would not shoot free throws because it technically is not a legal shot. So Im guessing that it would not be a legal shot at the wrong end so it would not be goal tending.
