Lady Cats by 15 eventhough the hot shooting from 3pt line will cause them some problems.If Powell is hitting fom 3pt line like they did in the distric tournament then this could be an upset in the making because Powell also has some athletic girls to make up for rebounding. The equalizer wil be the guards from Breathitt, if they apply pressure on Powell's outside game and force some turnovers then this wont be much of a game. Will be one of the best games in the first round.

gonna have to agree here. I dont think June B is playing team ball enought o stick with Powell. I think Romans owns the inside because I know he dont have the size advantage againest Collins but as my coach always said, "he'll man-handle the inside''. This will open up the outside and get Jun into trouble when they start trying ot enter the paint after their big men get into foul trouble. This open the 15 feet out for Powell and they can knock it down as shown in the 56th Distric, which the 15 footer was a big key to their sucess.

Breathitt wins 70-75 on some last min freethrows.........the only thing is that Gay had better have a big game for Buckhorn to have a chance and Hollon will need to come up big if Buckhorn plans on surprising some people.

I wouldt say a cake walk but I bet everyone in Hazard is happy with the draw. I dont know about Wolfe but Owsley and Knott will have something to say about that come second round. Last years team and this year team is exactly the same team so there would be a huge turnaround given that the team is young. An older team that looses this many games has 2 terrible season but a young team will/should improve. Congrats to the cats on a sucessful season and tournament thus far and Goodluck down the road.

Big win for the Bulldogs by beting a seemingly hot Buckhorn team. I was rooting for the Horns but Congrats to HAzard on the win. Seems that Hicks is the Big Game Player everyone has put him up to be. Buckhorn is a tough draw for anyone after winning a distric title. Could be the worst draw in it for a winning team.

Not broke but a severe sprang. Looking further into it to after further testing but just glad to hear it wsant broke. Told to stay off for at least a month.

Powell missed some clutch freethrows down the at the wire but seemed to fall short in the end. The guards really carried Powell the game on both ends untill Estill found the way to get back in it was going to the basket. Estill ran a spread offense and attacked the basket. Good way to stop the clock and score. Congrats Engineers and a good hard fought game by the Pirates.

Hate to see him leaving but after talking to one Beatyville faithful then its true. I know Lee got upset but was the favorite and Lee's program has improved tremendously in hte past couple years. I read on here that his record in the past 4 years is 61-50, but Im sure that if you look at the previous 4 years then its half the wins and double the losses.Im a Coach Wright fan eventhough I just cant see myself cheering for Lee, just an old distric rival.

Ill guess Ill be the one to do it................Owsley by 3 in the 56th Distric Finals Go Owls , bring it back to us , been a year or 2.

Very well put Professor........Hate to watch this end up this way. She came down on the other girls shoe. I was told that Kendra had it x-rayed last night after the game and wanted to come back but couldnt put pressure on it. I've seen her go down , so for her not to come back, it must of been a lot of pain. She was told that it was a chance it could be broke by the way it didnt swell immediately but I got no final answer, ill find out today though. Good win for the Pirates last night. I was also told that when Kendra was having problems earlier in the season that The Coach and the Lady Pirates sent her a "get well card", very classy act on their part. Goodluck in the rest of the tournament.

I agree, Parret from Owsley isnt up for the Coach of the year because his team had a down year, but on the other hand they are movin on. Coah Noble has had a above average team all year and pulled out some wins and after this win last night i'd say he's in th lead, unless Breathitt or maybe Powell can pull out the Regional Title, I'm going with Nobel. Congrats Buckhorn on the big wi and goodluck on down the road to Rupp!!:thumb:
