I believe they have a coach, they are just waiting to announce it...they might have to contact the candidates that didn't receive the job...I think we'll know something by Wednesday...I would agree that they'll stay in house...

Sorry you feel that way, but no matter what, kids need something to participate in. Augusta's players found out that they were going all fast pitch next season, and they all quit the team. I think this will happen to some of these smaller schools. As far as not playing in college, Lloyd had a player by the name of Beth Fields that played slow pitch in high school, walked on to Thomas More's fast pitch team in college, and belted a homerun her first at bat. :thumb:

Right now I would have to say that CC's Cigliotti(LF) and Kitchen(P) are CC's best. HC has an outstanding 3rd basemen(Wolfe) and SS(name?). Scott has a great LCF, and Lloyd has a good SS(Lee). Everything else is debatable.

According to who? Holy Cross, a predominant slow pitch team, has taken down some solely fast pitch teams this season. This shows us something...don't knock teams because they enjoy competing in something that you object to...

Not sure about the state of KY, but there's a great national website out there that tracks regional competition. http://www.dyestat.com

HC and Lloyd girls play both. Scott and CC are big enough schools to have two separate teams. HC plays their 10 required fast pitch games, then dedicates the rest of their season to slow pitch. Then they finish it off by participating in the fast pitch district tournament.

You cannot leave out Scott and Campbell County, or even Newport. Scott has the most starters back from last season, and Campbell has great talent and depth at all positions. I would agree that CC, Scott, HC, and Lloyd are the big four right now. All four have beaten one another. Scott beat Lloyd 9-6 and Lloyd beat Scott 18-3. Lloyd beat HC 9-8 smf HC beat Lloyd 6-2. Campbell has beaten Scott and HC, but not Lloyd, and I believe Scott has beaten them all at least once.

One can only hope. This gives a chance to kids that usually might not play. Also, I see schools like Cov Cath and St. Henry have added boys sports teams that aren't prominent in KY. CC added LaCrosse and St. H added men's volleyball. I love to see when schools offer more options to kids out there. :thumb:

The issue is that a lot of these smaller, NKY schools will not be able to field fast pitch teams due to lack of interest. And if they cannot field a team because of this, participation or not, there are going to be Title IX issues that arise. Face it, it one way or another, it's going to hurt girl's athletics in general when it's gone. And I agree, they should have two separate seasons, one in the fall and the other in the spring, but the volleyball Gods in Frankfort, or wherever the KHSAA is, won't allow that one to happen.

Kate Harper of Lloyd Memorial will sign to play with Midway College next season. She will join NKY standouts Jackie Hicks of Boone County and Carmen Firth of Dixie at midway. Pretty good class coming in.:banana:

What about all these McDonald's all americans? They play in more than 2 all star games. OJ Mayo, for one, has.

I read a thread earlier today that said Terry Trame of Ryle High School in Union, KY had resigned. Great guy. Will be missed in the ranks. Good luck to him, and good luck to the Raiders in their search.

Kate Harper of Lloyd will join NKY area standouts Carmen Firth and Jackie Hicks at Midway College. Tabitha Lockard and Brittany Mullins, also of Lloyd, are in the works of signing with Berea.
