I don't think it lacks discipline. Brauch had discipline, and that is what ran away the good players. Lloyd has some of the strongest academic requirements, and that also runs away some of the athletes. Good luck to the new coach, KEY!

Key to coach Lloyd hoops BY RYAN ERNST | ENQUIRER STAFF WRITER Lloyd has hired Mike Key as its boys' basketball coach, athletic director Chad Molley announced Thursday. Key spent last season as the head coach at Berea, where he led the Pirates to a 15-15 record and a district runner-up finish. He takes over for Chris Brauch, who resigned after the Juggernauts posted a 6-19 record this past season. Brauch went 23-51 in three seasons. Lloyd hasn't had a winning record since the 1999-2000 season.

Although not that big, 6'1'' center Sarah Powell signed with Cincinnati Christian University. After not playing much of her junior year, Powell ended with 200 pts and 240 boards her senior year. I cannot remember when the last time a female from LMHS went on to play college ball. Beth Fields went to TMC to play softball and walked on the b-ball team for one season. Congrats to Sarah and her family!

the 9th region finals had media timeouts as well. I am just saying, it will be a good game. Boone won't blame it on the distractions if they lose.

I think there aren't going to be too many jitters for the Rebels. I think these girls are playing loose, as it showed in their win over NDA the other night. NDA was the heavy favorite on paper, but Boone played like they had nothing to lose, and they will again in Diddle.

Boone has come a long way since they last played Mason.

Congrats to both teams. As we all know, there will be teams at Diddle that are not even close to the talent level that both of these schools are. However, being in a region together, only one can go. 4 Northern KY schools were in the finals of 3 different regions last night. Brossart(10th), NDA/Boone(9th), and SK(8th). If this doesn't tell you anything about the progress this area has made in women's basketball, I don't know what does. Yes, we still struggle to bring home the bigger hardware, but heck, give the coaches up here some credit for taking this area to the next level. I was at the Scott Co/Lex Cath game, and last night's final was nowhere close to that level, but these coaches are getting us closer to being able to compete down there. Congrats to all NKY teams and coaches this year for representing the area! Good luck to the Rebels next TH night! All of this, of course, IMO... :-)

NDA just did not look like they were focused after the Drees over and back error. From that point on, it seemed that Boone was always in control.

Online there was nothing in the Post about tonight's game. I like the Wachs girl and the D she brought to Sneed. She might be able to shut Hicks down and keep her at bay. As for the big girls on both teams, it should be exciting to watch.

What is amazing is that Boone continues to win without much offensive output from the Hicks girl. I think if she can get going, they will give NDA a game.

You are correct. I was just wondering if there some animosity there or what not. Great team, and a great run.

To people that were there: I thought it wasn't a good showing for SC when the coach took the girls to the locker room during the regional presentations. He had 3 girls on the team, including the MVP, and they weren't out on the floor to collect their awards.
