  1. "T-Cats by 10.. We're playing 16th region teams now." Keep that attitude, please. There are some 16th Region teams that might be able to compete with the mighty Tomcats.
  2. I am not knocking Breathitt's kids. They looked like a better team than their record indicated last year. I am impressed by the improved record. I based my posts on what the original Breathitt post said about the playing time. If he was incorrect then so am I. If, on the other hand, the score was run up, then shame on the coaches.
  3. Morgan getting shifted to 62nd was indeed a shady deal and In my opinion done to insure that Rowan County stays in Regional forever.
  4. One poster says Breathitt played starters most of the game and then when criticism starts another says they did not. Who knows? If Menifee did not have the big man then they played without much at all.
  5. Elliott needs a little lve here. They play uptempo and steals seem to make the offense go. I agree they are a little weak in the post due to size. But they feed off their defense.
  6. Rose Hill is much too talented to drop too many games. They have hit a cold streak against a couple of well prepared teams. I still say they will surprise some people THIS year.
  7. My point exactly. If you are up 40 starting the 4th quarter, why are any starters on the floor, especially for half the quarter?
  8. 61st--Rowan, Bath, Menifee and Fleming 62nd--East Carter, West Carter, Elliott and Morgan Rowan has got it made to the regional for a while to come. In my opinion they have been set up for quite some time by a former very friendly face on the KHSAA Board.
  9. The younger Knipp has the potential to be one of the best to come from this area. Maynard needs to get a few more shots, but the way the twins, ferguson and Knipp are shooting it isn't necessary right now. Speed kills and also helps negate the lack of an inside stopper. The combination of talent and pure guts and hustle make Elliott a contender.
  10. Elliott is playing quite well right now, but what matters is post-season. You can bet Russell, Ashland and the usual other suspects will be right there. It is wide open.
  11. Love the crow Wireman. keep it.:dancingpa :ylsuper: :ylsuper:
  12. It is an advantage to some, but is within the rules. It is a non-issue until the appropriate political body changes the rules and that is not going to happen. Children are held back for many reasons, athletics being only one.
  13. Getting to play in the 61st was nice for Morgan and Rowan wasn't it? Now it all sets up very nicely for Rowan. They may never miss another regional.
  14. The Rowan-Breck rivalry was vicious. Elliott vs. Morgan and East Carter isn't too bad either, although not on that level.
  15.   Scoring 100 points on Menifee County proves you are a good team?:creepy: That is a scary thought. Other than that statement the rest of the post is pretty much unreadable. Better find a better way to prove you have a good team:jump:
  16. Holdbacks are no longer an issue. I dare say every team has some for various reasons, including athletics, young age, lack of maturity and even academics. Let get past that and talk about basketball. If they are a sophmore or eigth grader at their school, then that is what they are.
  17. Chris Knipp is a sophmore starter. His brother Timmy is the 8th grader providing scoring and rebounding off the bench. Maynard is an offensive spark off the bench and can flat out shoot when left open.
  18. Elliott and Rose Hill should play some great games over the next couple of years. Both are extremely young and very talented. I look forward to the matchups. Elliott is one of the schools that always played Rose Hill when they were loaded but lately Rose Hill has dropped them from the schedule. I hope that changes.
  19. Sounds like the Rams may have had a little let down after the Class "A" final. Still a big win for a bath County team that needed one. The Cubster's rankings may look a little different next week.
  20. Menifee is way down and if Breathitt did leave their starters in that long it is a crying shame.
  21. Ms. Liberty you are way off base. Three players in double figure is pretty good balance and if you check the stats a cuople of others were close including 8th grader Timmy Knipp. Elliott is getting solid contributions from several players and they are on a roll right now. If I have ever seen a team play "team" ball it is Elliott at this point.
  22. Good win for the Cats. Rose Hill will continue to mature and learn. I would not let this game influence my opinion too much for the post-season. Those young players have a ton of talent and will surprise somebody. I still can't make myself say Wireman is a genious, but it was a good call on his part.
  23. I was not there but I dare say you were not either crimedoc so don't always jump on Elliott County fans.
