  1. I listened to the game on the internet. What a great game. To bad that a team had to lose. Good win for the T-Cats. The Devils will bounce back next week. Sounded like a great game. This was a heavy weight fight.
  2. Hopefully he doesn't have an account on here. I am glad to see Coach Brugh honored. He is well deserved.
  3. To cvillecat and old rambler, don't get worked up over the early post. I hope that Raceland has a good year and wish the best to allot of good friends in Raceland. I was just throwing out a point. Good Luck Rams in week 2 against Rowan.
  4. Something that the Ramblers should look at is that it may be a Baseball school year in year out. They compete with the big boys (without fire truck escorts) go about their business and are at the top of the region almost every year. The basketball team has been very competitive over the last 10 years. I believe that they won a district and their was no fire truck escort. I am glad that the fire departments of the two communities supported the kids and gave their appreciation. I am just an outsider looking in, but Raceland has allot of goods things going on and need to look at the big picture. Like TBF said, the focus needs to be on the BIG WINS, Fairview, LCA, Bath, Paris. Those teams allow you to reach your goal. I hope the Raceland wins them all. Vanderhoof is a great guy and great coach. I know some the kids and their great hard working individuals. Keep the game in perspective.
  5. I'm glad to see a kid for this arae have the oppurtunity to play on that level. With Jennings and Pettrey going to major D-1 programs, that may form a link to this area for future. I hope that he has success this year.
  6. Kasey Clark - Russell. Hard nose runner.
  7. I felt like Coach Austin did a good job with the girls. Theplayed hard that is all you can ask of them.
  8. Once again we see that just winning the final game has a big influence on the MVP. The formats are usually set. It would have taken a performance like Richie Farmer for Terry to win the award. I will have to say though it was pretty close.
  9. Good job Rose Hill. Win for the region. Great job by Terry.
  10. Just please don't try and put the jersey on. Ha!Ha! What year was the Ramblers officially changed to Rams?
  11. I have read the post on the KABC and the disclaimer that one of the posters feel should be on the award. Let me start out by saying that there are a bunch of girls that could deserve the award (including Falkner, Queen, & Terry). The KABC POY & COY are for the schools that are memebrs of this organization. Take into account that if the best player in the stae doesn't play at a sanctioned KHSAA school then he/she would not wn the Mr./Miss Basketball award. Should that award come with a disclaimer that says "Mr./Miss Basketball of all schools sanctioned by the KHSAA; excluding Prep School, Department of Juvenile Justice, and Court Appointed Facilities. Should these players not be accounted for on this award? They are here in Kentucky. Let's face it, it is what organization you belong to.
  12. I heard tha t Lewis County and Greenup aren't playing in the district. To much competition. Can't compare to Raceland or Russell.
  13. Thank god there are no other teams in that district.
  14. Good win for the Devils. Once the Rams went to the press they caused the Devils some problems. Food for thought for the upcoming tourney. :sssh: Good luck to both teams in the regional tournament.
  15. My philosophy is to foul them hard enough to where they go to the line and earn their 2 points if a foul is called.
  16. When they first went to floor I felt that nobody had position of the ball and Blair and a Raceland player had their hands on the ball. When Blair ripped it away from the Raceland player he rolled over top of him. I guess at the point that you refer to, both players had their hands on the ball, so it should have been a jump ball. In situations like that, I feel it is tough to reward a person for saying time-out, when both kids have the ball. Does the advantage go to the offensive player. It is an interesting thing that happens alot in the all games. Just thought I would throw that out there.
  17. They will face Rowan Co. in the finals.
  18. As a man in stripes, what was your true opinion on the call?
  19. What section of the rule book? Just wanting to know.
  20. Congrats to Menifee. Was it back in the early 90's with Carty & Back?
  21. What section of the rule book is that in. I would like to look that up.
  22. You have to be joking me. There is no way that time-out was called before the roll. That is crazy. I will side with Devil58 when he comes back with his verdict on the rule on the walk call.
  23. Kinglion, I have noticed by watching a couple district games in the 63rd and almost all the teams are missing crucial freethrows. These seems to be an epidemic.
  24. Statmaster, I agree with you on the intentional foul. I didn't see it, but there wasn't to much going on, because nobody really reacted. There was alot of pushing and shoving on both ends for a ticky tack intentional foul to be called. Let them play. I'm sure jerseys were being held all night. Why call it then? Tell them to let go like they do when someone gets killed on a post up and they tel them to take it easy.
  25. I would have to say that McDavid, no matter how many points he scores, is going to contribute every night for you. He will go to war defensively and rebound, as well. Euton is going to be a heck of a player. He is already pretty good.
