Former Fairview Star Chris Jennings Getting D1 Shot At Arizona

Featured Replies

Potential good news for the former star from Fairview...Hope things work out for him...I really got to know him while he was at Fairview & he is a great kid who just needed the right opportunity...Looks like he has a shot to play out there if he can stay healthy...Playing in the PAC 10 is not too shabby...Arizona plays BYU on TBS on Sept 2 & LSU on ESPN2 on Sept 9...If all goes well, he'll get his chance to play on national TV...I wish him the best...http://www.herald-dispatch.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20060810/SPORTS/608100367/1002/SPORTS

I wish the Jennings kid all the best, he was one heck of a back and linebacker in h.s..

That he was! He is one the best to ever play in the Ashland area.

This is FANtastic for Chris, I wish him the best of luck. I think that alot of kids around here can play ball but are not marketed the right way. They do not know all their options coming out of high school and have no idea what is there for them.

Post stats on this kid if you here them after the game.

Congratulations to Chris Jennings!

Thanks for the report Devil58.

"If he continues at this rate, he will play, he will help us and he will earn a scholarship, that's for sure," Arizona Coach Stoops said.

Nice!

You knew he would play. Too bad he had to wait a couple of years for potential spotlight.

Would have liked to see him in the backfield at KY or West Virginia.

What a great, great story! Just goes to show not to give up in this sport.

Chris is 1 of 7 kids from Fairview to sign to play college football since 2002.

Others are:

Zach Moore-Cumberland

Chris Blanton-Cumberland

Randy Suttles-Thomas More

Brett Cooksey-Morehead State

Tyler Whitt-Morehead State/KCU

Bo Barber-KCU

Chris will have a major impact on the Arizona Football team and in the PAC-10

Glad to see this kid get a chance. He's always seemed like someone that would make the best of it if given the opportunity. IMO, he'll earn his scholly and make some noise out west, before it's all said and done.

Congrats to Chris Jennings! I got to play against him 3 times while I was in High School in Ludlow and one of the times was in the playoffs, and well he tore us up each time. He has all the tools, he is fast, strong, has great balance, and always seems to make the right cuts. It was pretty much impossible to tackle him by your self. I know I tried to hit him low one time, and he still ran me over. He single handily pretty much ended my football career since his team knocked my team out of the playoffs my senior year. I always knew that he had the ability to play divison 1 ball and I really look forward to seeing him play and I wish him the best of luck.

(I also hope one day he can maybe make it to the NFL because so this way I can say I played against an NFL runningback lol.)

This is great news and a great reflection on the Fairview program!

Congratulations Chris, i hope the best for you!

Great news, I wish him well.

I'm glad to see a kid for this arae have the oppurtunity to play on that level. With Jennings and Pettrey going to major D-1 programs, that may form a link to this area for future. I hope that he has success this year.
