Jacob Tamme was a pretty good player.

I think very little money and not very many assistant coaches was a common thing that most of the coaches I was thinking about A lot of people would be surprised at the programs that have to raise most of the money to run their program.

Corky Prater was another one I also thought of. Good call chief. He was the kinda guy I was thinking of when I started this thread. Tony Burchett at Powell is another that wins around 7 games a year with little talent.

Billy Martin wins year in and year out and never has div I players Like Jim Matney or not he is a great coach Tom Larkey of course is one. I know this is about head coaches but I am gping throw a twist. Tony Saylor longtime DC at Rockcastle is a coach that gets the best out of not much on defense Could of been a head coach any where if he wanted too. I am sure Coach Larkey would tell you the same thing

One that comes to mind for me that I have a lot of respect for is longtime former coach Hoover Niece from Estill County.

With all the really good open jobs this year and people talking about this coach and that coach it got me thinking. Who are some of the really good coaches that worked hard and did a lot of good things for their program and kids without having much talent to work with. Basically who gets the most out of the least?

I have to agree with this. Different than it has ever been before. Larry French got the job at Southwestern after what seemed to be due process, and then less than a week later Boyle had hired Chuck Smith. No 30 day posting. It maybe just me but I never heard of anyone being interviewed at Madison Central, as soon as Smith left for Boyle Scenters was hired over night, and again never heard of anyone being interviewed. Then when Scenters left for Central , Garrard folks already had their coach picked out Jerry Perry or bust. Got 22 pages of how to hire Jerry Perry. LOL What if Vince Lombardi applied for the Garrard job, would they turn him down for Jerry Perry? Strange JMO

I have no idea. Also I cannt under stand how Brian Washington from Paris is not the coach of the year in that district. JMO

Bellevue is part of the KFCA. Poynter has been active in the KFCA for several years. This year I was told that all schools can be apart of the KFCA because of the way the redbook deal went down this year. As far as putting someone up for the award everyone that is part of the KFCA can be voted on without nominating them. I assure you that coach poynter does everything he can to get his players recognized. There is no excuse why this happened other than some district coaches chose not to vote for the best player in the district and proably the best player in class A as far as stats go. Heard someone say well so and so didn't play the entire game that's why their stats not good. Ackerson didn't finish the game in 6 different games because of Bellevue blowouts or his stats could be a lot higher. But he still was the leading passer in class A and 6th overall in the state.

This is so true, a absolute joke. The coaches in this district drop the ball on this one. Tyler Ackerson had 3024 yards passing 27 TDs and 704 yards rushing and 10 TDs. Ackerson was the leading passer in the state in class A and could have been up for class A player of the year. But not now because of the injustice done by the coaches in this district.

We had stuff called like that all year. If we make a play and give each other a high five we got unsportsman like from officials in NKFCA. So where the officials are from don't matter. Well those 2 plenties only equaled out with the ones that they didn't call on the Frankfort fans that were standing behind the Bellevue bench, which could have been 5 or 6 different times. Grown people should not talk to 16 and 17 year old kids like that. Good luck next week.

Where the officials are from does not matter and had NO IMPACT on this game. If you, your team and full grown fans commit fouls they should be called no matter if the officials are from Frankfort, Bellevue, Pikeville, or Denver. Bellevue has had no calls, miscalls, and ghost calls made ALL YEAR long from officials in NKFOA that cost Bellevue games and I never got on here and said anything about it. Guess I am now :clap:

Actually Bellevue cut the score to 16-8 early in the 3rd quarter on a Int by Blake Stephenson. Bellevue had several turnovers. 4 I know in the first half and 2 or 3 in the second half. That slowed the offense down a lot. The tigers had trouble blocking the Panthers. 51 and 44 from Frankfort were in Ackerson face most of the night.

Congrats to Frankfort they have a very good football team. Very proud of the Tigers. They have a lot of heart and fight in them. Good season and game for a bunch of kids that are "to little" as the Frankfort fans standing in the far end zone said. GO TIGERS!!!!

Bellevue has scored 69 touchdowns and have had success on 36 2 point plays, so 36 times 2 is 72 so it would be about the same as kicking and making every kick, will maybe just a little bit better. Bellevue cannt get in a shootout with Frankfort. The Panthers have way too many athletes for the tigers to deal with. Got to use a little heart and guts to stay in this game. GO TIGERS!!!!

Tyler threw 2 TD passes one to Stephenson and a nice touch pass of 55 yards to Poinsett which gives him 20 tds on the season

Congrats to Tyler, last week he broke the school record for career completions. Really been a good year for Ty and the Bellevue offense. Not bad for a QB who has handed it off the last 3 years.
