Final

Sounds like another great game.

Anyone?

Several personal fouls called in this one. Carroll Co pass defense was big. Pressure and INTs. Neither team can kickoff worth a darn and gave up field position all night long. Newport D had some big stops but also gave up some big gains on counters.

I'm a bit shocked by this one.

Newport could not stop #11, at least in the 1st half (I left at halftime). Every time he touched the ball he made a big play.

NKY Small School football is just terrible this year, this should shock no one.

Tough loss for the Wildcats. They came in to this game very nervous and it showed.

Paul Price returned a kickoff 70+ yards with under a minute to make the score 29-21 but CC recovered the onside kick and it was too little too late.

I personally think Coach Schmitz has had one hell of a year for his first season as head coach. His team went through a lot this year and I don't think anyone would've predicted Newport would be hosting a playoff game by season's end. He has a lot to build on heading in to next season.

Congrats to Coach Weedman and the Panthers

Way to go, Panthers! Several people I know had this game decidedly in the W column for Newport. I told them that they might just be surprised. Glad that I was right!

I agree about what Coach Schmitz did with this team this year. Very good job. The fans and players in Newport should be excited about next season. What they do between now and next August will determine if the program builds off the progress in the second half of this season.

Newport should have a nice run game next year. They could possible have two 1,000 yard rushers. I look for good things for the cats next year!
