I’ll always remember one of the many audits we got at the CMHC. One year an auditor showed up in a suit stretched to the seams. 6’2”, 275, carved out of granite. I asked him where he had played. UK (a poor SEC team when he was there, often the case). BACKUP nose guard.

Yeah, it was annoying when I worked concessions and someone would ask if we had pheasant under glass. Although the MOST annoying thing that ever happened in the course of that brief career was spilling the pot of hot dog water down the front of me. I’m with you on the pitching. It’s just one of those things - no team in MLB history had ever reached the postseason with all four of those things happening. And pitching has improved over the last quarter century (or hitting has gotten worse with the affair with the long ball). Nearly fifty .300 hitters in 2000. Eight or nine this season.

Looks like a 2-man race between Aaron Judge and Cal Raleigh. Judge is superior in most hitting categories, while Raleigh hit 60 as a catcher (and allowed zero passed balls). Who ya got?
