According to this report Stoops wanted out last year and offered to negotiate buyout. If True, I wonder why it never went any further? Did he have second thoughts? Did Barnhart not take him seriously? Or were the unable to come to an agreement in negotiations?

Makes sense now why there was a 6 month rumor about Vince leaving before he finally did. He knew Stopps was trying to leave as well.

True or not, this report is the final nail in his coffin. Because every short coming on the field will be blamed on him not wanting to be here any way.

KSR is disputing Cutler's interpretation of the conversation. They seem to think Mark said if you want me gone, buy me out. Not that he said that he wanted out and offered to take a lower buyout.

That seems more likely.

I've spent the better part of my life believing 0% of what Alan Cutler says.

I thought Alan Cutler was still running around trying to find Billy Clyde.

That was a terrible display.  One of the main rules of journalism/EMB is cover the story, do not become the story.   Him chasing Gillespie down a hallway crossed the line into becoming part of the story.  A No no.
