The Wild Card portion of the of the MLB playoffs start today through Thursday if necessary. In today's opening game on ESPN the Tigers defeated the Guardians in a great game 2-1. The Tigers get the go ahead run on a safety squeeze. The Tigers got a great performance by their ace Tarik Skubal who struck out 14 Guardians in just 7 and 2/3 innings.

Cubs with back to back homers in the 5th to take a 2-1 lead in front of a packed and rowdy crowd at Wrigley.

In the 2nd game currently on ABC the Cubs in the bottom of the 5th took the lead on the Padres on back-to-back homers by Suzuki and Kelly. The game is currently in the top of the 6 inning. Next up will be the Red Sox and Yankees.

Cubs defeat the Padres 3-1 after trailing 1-0.

Next up in about 30 minutes is the Red Sox at the Yankees. The question I have will this be the year that Judge finally has a post season that resembles his regular season?

Red Sox's and Yankees are still 0-0 heading into the bottom of the 3rd inning.

Sorry Yankees led 1-0 on a Volpe homer.

Why did Yankees pull Freid after one out in the 7th??? Relief pitcher gives up a walk and back to back hits, allowing two runs.

I think Boone out thought himself there.

Yanks loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the ninth, but Alrodis Chapman got Stanton to K then a flyout by Jazz Chisolm (Paul Goldschmidt was too old and slow to try and score from third) then struck out Trent Grisham to end the game.  Worked out of the jam like an old pro.

Sox take game 1, 3 - 1.

In today's first game today the Guardians are leading the Tigers 1-0 after 2 innings.

Tigers get a run in the top of the 4th to tie it at 1.

It is still 1-1 going into the top of the 6th inning.

The Padres have in the top of the first runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody not.
