Week 5 starts with the 49ers at the Rams Thursday night on Prime.  Both teams are 3-1.

Niners 17 Rams 7 at the half. 

Niners without their qb and 2 wrs. 

Entertaining so far.

Rams tie it at 20 after a missed extra point and then the 49ers get a 59-yard FG to take the lead 23-20 with just 2:52 to play.

What a change in this one the Rams have it first and goal from about the 1-yard line and the Niners take over at their own 1-yard line. Unreal!

Niners run 3 plays for about a yard and punt. The Rams have the ball at midfield and have it with :42 seconds to play.

The Rams pickup a huge first down on 4th and 4 and it looks like OT now. Another wild Thursday night game!

The Rams hit a 48-yard field goal to tie it at 23 and going to OT>

49ers get a FG to go up 26-23 but the Rams are rolling and are already in FG range and trying to win it. The Niners have so many injuries on the defensive line Stafford has all day in the pocket.

Rams played for the win on a 4th and 1 from the 11-yard line and do not get it and the 49ers still a win 26-23!

Niners were without a slew of their best players and playing on the road.  Probably multiple future HOFers. 
 

Message to other teams in similar circumstances.  It can be done.  But you’d better have a running game. A healthy McCaffrey can help balance the scales.   Not to mention that the Rams don’t have many toes left after multiple self-inflicted shots to the foot. 

What I most appreciated about the Rams' Super Bowl victory a few years ago is that when it came down to winning time, the ball was in the hands of their best players, come hell or high water (Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford). The Rams' two best offensive threats today are Stafford and the league's best WR, Puka Nacua. And the ball goes to... Kyren Williams. The play was grounded in logic, as that was LA's only rush for a loss, but I would have still ridden with one of my top dawgs in clutch time.
