No you can't say that. That is one of the most stupid assumptions I've ever heard. Nobody's said that in this thread. The fact is that he talks during the play. If you've ever played you would know that while you are in the play and a booming voice comes in and gives you advice you will listen. For example, in another stadium where there is no play by play announced, a coach will routinely yell things while the play is going on. "Stay outside" is a good example because my coach once yelled it at me and I did exactly what he said. Or another example that is more relevant. In most schools the players that are not on the field will yell pass ball calls. I.e. when it is a run they will run, when it is a pass they will yell pass and when the ball is in the air they will yell ball. Now the players don't wait to listen for the calls to react because that’s the stupidest thing you can do, but while playing when they hear "run" or "pass" they CAN and WILL react to it. Now an announcer is much louder than the collective yells of 50 some odd kids so he DOES affect the game. I am not saying that Campbell wins games because of the announcer because that's not true. They win games because they are a very good football team, but the fact of the matter is that he doesn't need to announce the games the way he does. If this many people are complaining and it’s this big an issue how can you just blow it off as no big deal???

The issue isn't the kind of guy the announcer is or who the team he announces is. As far as him being funny, I don't care if Will Ferell is announcing the game NOBODY has the right to announce during the play. He can say "FIRST DOWN" all he wants and I could care less. Anything announced before/after the play is alright by me, but he DOES impact the game during the play, seriously. I played last year when he was announcing and he told the defense what was going on. You can disagree all you want, but the fact is you can hear it and react to it.

Excuse you? Yes we lost, and I got over it a long long time ago. I don't care if we were beating Campbell by 1000000000 if someone announces the play by play I'm not going to be happy about it. Nice way to show some class though Mr. whodey.

Where was the announcer when Campbell was losing?????? The correlation between Campbell's success and the "hating" of the announcer is absolutely ridiculous because he wasn't there when they were losing.

When is the last time you played against Campbell Co. As a player last year I can tell you that he EFFECTS the game. On the field you have no idea what the fans are saying, but the PA can clearly be heard by all. While Campbell is on defense he routinely calls play by play which is a joke. And as far as it being an "accident" that he calls out plays, that is the most rediculous excuse I've ever heard. So if an ofensive tackle holds someone can he just say he made a mistake and move on? Or how about if there is a play action and a defensive player is told that it is a pass and the defensive player rushes the QB and not the RB and causes the QB to fumble, is that just a mistake. "Oops I droped the ball it was an accident. Can I have it back?"

Actually I take back my comment. I began thinking about it and he effects the play on the field much more than I remembered. To point out an example one play last year immediately after the quarterback faked it to the running back he proclaimed "here's a pass..." and no one was fooled by the run fake. Its kind of hard to bite on anything when the PA announcer tells the players whats happening. I thought it was against the rules to announce anything during game play. I was at a game tonight and as the announcer was saying something he stopped talking until the play was over, summed up the play, then continued talking. I guess the Campbell guy is above the law though...

SK has shown an incredible lack of heart in the last couple games. Its sickening to me. This team was leaps and bounds more talented than last years team, but at points in the season it seemed like they didn't care. This team probably had the highest expectations of any SK team in the past several decades, and when district time came they couldn't live up to any of the expectations. In one word this season was a disappointment. Well since the season is effectively over I would love to see SK try out Elbert at receiver just for kicks. He has the best hands on the team, trust me.

Bishop said he wanted to go far in the playoffs. Not too offending IMO.

He can very distracting to the opposing teams players, but he effects the players parents more than the actual players IMO.

I'm picking Holmes in a high scoring affair.

Casey Fisk is way too young and inexperienced to be able to handle the scott situation.

Point taken. He might be able to make it as a fullback or another power position. I personally was watching something else in the play, i don't remember what, so i didn't see the play, but everyone there said the same thing you did. It was more of a mutual hit, where Bishop hurt himself more than the other kid hurt him.

The effort was not dumb at all, and i know that is how he plays, but the fact that he lead with the crown of his helmet is something he will probably regret. David Pollick did the same kind of thing and is lucky to be able to walk. Well the man looked like an EKU scout to me, i didn't know that his grandpa had close ties to EKU and would be wearing one of their official looking jackets. Besides that i don't see whats so negative to say that EKU might be recruiting him, when they most likely are doing so.

If SK makes their extra points, and the one field goal they missed it is a seven point game with 4+ minutes left. Despite that SK looked very bad and got destroyed on defense. Every level of their D looked horrible with the secondary was the weakest point. SK racked up the yards on kickoff returns. At least three maybe four were an ankle tackle away from being six points. Tommy Gibson, who had a couple of the long runbacks, is a gamer. He played the whole game with a visibly painful sprained ankle. When he wasn't playing he was limping around and struggling to get back on the field. Bishop lead with the crown of his head on that one play which was a dumb move. I love that kid to death and wish him the best, but that's something you just can't do. I saw a EKU scout or coach jog over there to see how he was doing when he was on the ground. I know how quick colleges are to turn away injured high school seniors, so I hope that the injury doesn't cost him anything in terms of a scolarship there or anywhere else.

Ha science at SK.... anywho, yeah i know that you don't need your hand down, but after i typed it i didn't feel like deleting it and didn't plan on anyone calling me out on it, but i guess i didn't get it past you. But about the actual play, i saw a hand on the ground, if you didn't see it fine, but in my eyes it isn't a penalty. Besides the actual rule, a play that awesome cannot be a penalty, its SK science....:ylsuper:

Well if the recieving team can choose to rekick, then it'd be of no use. i'd assume the Holmes coaches would choose the chance of taking it to the house then settling for the 35 yard line.

I am very sure it is on the ground. Look at the video again. And about the simulated snap yeah in a normal situation you would stand up and block, but because he didn't stand up immediately he needed his hand on the ground to stabalize him or else he would've fallen over. Its science.... Also about him stepping on the centers back, if you look at the video and watch the centers back instead of the kid who blocked it its foot you see that his back does not move therefore there can't be any contact or any push from the kid who blocked it. If someone steps on your back you will move at least a little bit. Its also science....
