As I stated in the previous post, this does not apply to this game. I'm talking about Trimble Co. and Lloyd who had to play at NCC but had to pay to rent the field. Makes no sense to me.

I have a comment on the field rental fee that was mentioned earlier. I can't get too upset with Newport for charging the fee. If you can make money off something these days go for it. My complaint is with the KHSAA. This doesn't apply to this game, because it's against Newport. But, how is it fair to penalize the visiting team with this fee? If NCC doesn't have their own field, then it should be on them to pay for a field. If they cannot afford a field, then the game should be moved to the opponent's field. The two teams should split the gate period in a playoff game. One of the perks of going to a playoff game is getting a little extra cash. One more question, is it $1800 for regular season games as well or just playoff games?

Congrats to the Wildcats! Chris Brown rushed for 278 yards and 4 TDs. He also became the schools all time leading rusher.

Lloyd is a very good football team in all phases of the game. The NCC game should be a close one.

Right, because GC scheduled this game to help Lloyd get ready for NCC. Lloyd is more talented and probably should win, but I'm sure Gallatin is not going to go up there and lay down. The earlier post had a little bit of sarcasm in it.

Chris Brown from Gallatin should have another good year. He averaged over 8 yds per carry last year. Very strong, physical runner.

WV will be solid as always, but they lost both Lattimores and Compton didn't they? Those three will be hard to replace.

Wow...undefeated? That's a big jump from 0-10. I do expect them to be improved, but that may be a little ambitious.

Totally agree with munoz and bluerunner. Having that tradition helps tremendously, but the biggest advantage I see is the ability to draw from such a big area. I didn't notice that WV's numbers were down. How many did they have? What kind of numbers do they have in the off season on average?

What would a program like WV need to do to compete with the likes of NCC? They're a well coached, disciplined team that is always a threat to win their district. Facilities/field are very nice. Administration/community seems to be supportive. What do they need to do compete with an NCC? Hmm...what is NCC able to do that WV is not?

I don't understand the selection process for this? How can a player that lead the state in INT's (14), have 70 tackles, 4 fumble recoveries, 70 tackles, 1200 yds receiving, 14 TD receptions, 6 rushing TDs, score 150 pts, return 2 punts for TD's and 2 kickoffs for TDs not be picked for this team? These stats are for Nate McCoy - Gallatin Co. Maybe he's from the wrong part of the state. The only NKY player that I see was Beal from Holy Cross, and McCoy outplayed him in their playoff game. I know that Gallatin is a small school, and did not get the publicity that most bigger schools get, but players like him don't come around too often at a program like Gallatin. So, when they do you'd hope that they'd get recognized. And I hope no one gets on here and says that the coach didn't nominate or promote him, because I know for a fact that is not true.

It has never made sense to have coaches vote anyway. Most coaches only watch the teams that are on their schedule, and have no idea about players other than who they have to prepare for. I'm not sure that this the answer, but maybe the coaches should only count for part of the vote along with the media. Also, I find it hard to believe that coaches are not advertising for their own players, but only 96 voting speaks volumes about how the coaches view this award. If that's the case, take it out of their hands.
