Apologies....some of our fans are new to this site....not to mention delusional, obnoxious, etc......

       You see? Everyone's B.S. alarms are ringing!!!!

You got that right....:jump: How about we leave the hearsay on the kids myspace and concentrate on the facts. Prophecised....hmmm I'm going to look that one up.

Morgan is 13-2 as a starter. End of story. If Mercer EVER has to resort to throwing the ball, we are in good hands. Those of us who were here last year can attest to that.

Like they say...offense wins games but DEFENSE wins championships. Mercer has allowed 6 points in 3 games. I don't care who you're playing...that is impressive.

Good lord....here we go again. The NFL doesn't have a 4.29 guy this year...much less Mercer. In spite of what you HEARD...probably by some 16 yr. old. Give me a break. Craig Yeast wasn't a 4.29 and even if he was I'm pretty sure being from Hburg doesn't give you some geographically induced speed genetics!!! Our team has very fast HIGH SCHOOL backs. period...GET A GRIP!!!:madman:

The full disclosure being this...... Danville was down 6-0 with Mercer's JV offense in. Danville pops our JV QB, causes him to fumble, runs it in, kicks the PAT, and promptly ends the scrimmage. It was however a couple minutes shy of 2 hours, so they had no choice. I would LOVE to see Danville and Mercer this year. We'll just have to compare Boyle scores as a poor substitute.

Mercer 48 Garrard 0 Mercer's offense too much for Garrard, but it's the Titan defense that they will remember. They have not nor will they see a defense like Mercer's this year. I look for Coach Jaggers to roll up the score quickly and then shut his starters down early. No since risking injuries for the much anticipated matchup with Boyle. (see Michael Bush....what a shame.) Roll on Titans...

I agree by game 13...there are no cupcakes left. Mercer does however have more than one coach besides Coach Jaggers that have been to game 15. That gives the program itself somewhat of an advantage. Russell and Belfry have players with this experience which gives them a better advantage. I disagree with your assesment of Mercers backfield. I prefer all things factual and shy away from the hype. Here are the facts about Mercer's rushing attack.. 4 backs that compliment each other with varying styles from mind blowing speed to bone jarring create a hole running. 4500+ rushing yards between them last year. Over 50 TD's between them last year. An effective passing game (2:1 TD to Int ratio last year); just to remind defenses to abandon stacking the line of scrimmage. And last but certainly not least...Mercer is not one dimensional in their running attack which makes them unique. While the wishbone is their preferred method of attack..they have the ability and experience to run out of mulitple formations which gives them the ability to adjust.

You are absolutely correct. Most people won't stop to consider the huge sheduling mess that would have occured by bumping Mercer into a different class, region, and district. While I rarely agree with most of the KHSAA decisions, I think there was no choice in this case.

No offense intended :thumb: Vaughts "undefeated" article was not well received by quite a few folks either. However, he and his staff annually make predictions....so the forum was right in that case. Plus he is not from Mercer, which is the difference between compliment and obnoxious.

You're right!! I watched it 8 times....my whole office was cracking up...

1 playoff win in the last dozen years or so.... 2 blowout wins over mediocre teams.... WOWEEE let's order the rings!!!!! I'm as excited as anyone at Mercer, but for crying out loud, the season is 2 WEEKS OLD Let's enjoy watching the fellas and let them do their talking on the field. If you're talking about yourself (constantly in some cases) what good does it do you? We're good.....other folks will recognize this....relax!

I think the "big ol' target" has been put on our backs by our own people starting threads about an undefeated season and winning a State Championship. Nothing like bringing it on yourself....

Not sure the scenario makes much sense, unless you consider an overdue merge cheating..... However, I'm sure the reaction would be exactly the same as now.... A WHOLE BUNCH OF SNIFFLING AND WHINING.....

Excellent observation... The strength of last years team was undoubtedly the line. It will be some time before Mercer has that kind of size and skill set in a group of offensive linemen. While we undoubtedly had talent in the backfield, they were running behind 300 pound pulling guards who were WIPING PEOPLE OUT! I see the same potential with this years crew (they are really getting better) , although nowhere near the size. Don't forget also, last years line was a senior laden bunch of veterans. They deserve some recognition even a year later.

    :thumb:

Sorry.....Mercer's field is in so much better shape than AJ field it is not even worth discussing. What is worth discussing is what the PLAYERS (remember them?) want. They want nothing more than to dress and relax at the new fieldhouse before making an awesome entrance onto their field. They are probably not real fired up about getting on a bus for every HOME game!!!

EXACTLY!!!:thumb: Everyone from Mercer take a deep breath...... We've had our way with two mediocre teams. That's nothing to wet your pants over... Our schedule is favorable, although we haven't earned the right to overlook Boyle yet. Newport will be a tough game on their new field. REGARDLESS...talk of a 15-0 season is ridiculous at this point. How we respond to injuries, hostile environments, poor officiating, sloppy fields, opposing coaches with flawless game plans, and the hype will tell the story. If we pass those tests, then all we have to do is beat a tough, physical, impeccably coached team like Russell who are playoff veterans, and understand the pressures of playoff time. I'm having a blast this year also, but for crying out loud Mercer has NOT earned the right to talk about running the table and sizing the players up for rings after 2 games! A little respect for the Belfry's and Russell's is in order.

500+ rushing yards for Mercer tonight...

??????????????????

      Nope...just looked it up to be sure....Mercer is 2A District 3. Whew...I was worried there for a minute!! The only 4A team we should be discussing in this forum is the 4A team that Mercer just beat!!!!:sssh: Quit your crying.....

 Yeah.....nice to see an overlooked team like Trinity getting FINALLY getting some recognition......

391 yards..

Just a little ole county school doing the best we can........
