  1. You got it buddy. Nothing wrong with speaking the truth. Our baseball field is an absolute joke. Hopefully will taking care of that in a year or so....
  2. Thanks...:thumb: But it did absolutely nothing to get us ready for you guys.
  3. In that case, you would LOVE to watch Mercer Co. They run it and run it and run it and run it....to perfection.
  4. All good streaks must end....South Laurel will probably score the 1st offensive TD against the Mercer defense this year.
  5. Bluto.. Sorry..not meant to be an insult to LCA's program...rather just stating the fact that the Harrodsburg players absorbed into the Mercer program are awfully good. I saw the same thing as you. Inexperienced QB I thought, and fatigue. Mercer's points came much easier after the 1st quarter. I'm not sure the offense of LCA is suited to their personnel. Anyway, good luck the rest of year.
  6. :thumb: :thumb: I think you said it best in another thread....believe the hype!!
  7. I agree, we played them well last year. Injuries and two dropped TD passes were all that seperated us from Russell. However, in the playoffs, it is overcoming these types of things that seperate the good from the great. Russell is defending State Champions....might want to find another team to compare us to since it is just week 1...
  8. :thumb: :thumb: just don't say you're Trinity or St. X....
  9. Careful with your comments. A feel good win against LCA is a far cry from being able to play with Russell. Mercer is looking very much like a team to make it deep into playoffs, however, we haven't and probably won't see a team like Russell. Newport or Boyle would be a measuring stick for that. The Red Devils didn't get there overnight....neither will we.
  10. Harrodsburg's 15 kids could have beat LCA 49-0 by themselves....
  11. So who's your team...get us on the schedule..we'll whip their butt too.
  12. The only televised game will be the 2nd game. Mercer vs. LCA will not be televised

  14. Enough said.. It's going to be a blast. Good luck to all.
  15. Probably referring to opponents on Mercer's regular schedule.
  16. What can we expect?
  17. EXACTLY....scrimmages are just tune ups for games. I simply made a point about Mercer's seemingly overlooked defense (that HASN'T been scored upon by any of their three scrimmage opponents.) Seemed simple enough at the time, until we have to explore should have, could have, would have, but DIDN'T! Besides... to say you won a contest you can't stop it as soon as you go ahead Anyway.... Mercers kicker was not at the scrimmage from what I'm told. Plus scrimmages are a great time to practice 2 point conversions. As for the QB in question, he is one of three vying for the starting job. Coach Jaggers went three deep in several positions, by alternating series. I assume to see how they would respond in gamelike conditions.
  18. Nice post.. Mercer finally has something to be excited about, everything looks to be in place, and there is great potential. However, let's not confuse potential for tradition. Teams like Danville and Boyle have earned tradition with titles and consistency. Danville and Boyle will be the measuring stick by which all other programs measure themselves. I'm glad to see that Mercer players showed a willingness to "measure up" as evidenced in their attitude during a simple scrimmage.
  19. Offensive pass interference on the TD called back. AS I SAID...Mercer did not allow an offensive score from ANY of their preseason scrimmage opponents. While Mercer certainly has some offensive weapons, their defense is doing the job. Perhaps you should start another thread on should have, could have, would have, etc.....
  20. Mercer's defense looked very strong again. Still hasn't allowed a touchdown.....a returned fumble by Danville the only score against the Titans by three different teams.:sssh:
  21. you've been there all week......why are you asking?
  22. I couldn't agree more.. I like Mercer from the final four a year ago.
  23. Marty Jaggers - Mercer Co. What a complete turn around in his first year. Just took a bunch of kids, taught them to believe, played to their strengths, and adjusted as each game developed. He believed in his players and his players believed in him. There are alot of deserving names in this thread, however, we wouldn't trade Coach Jaggers for any of 'em.
