I agree. Both lost to pretty good, higher class teams. North had a chance to take the lead in the fourth until the last of their many fumbles and East could have easily pulled out a victory except for a few plays. Its not like the Fairdale loss to Male, now that is a bad way to start.

I believe since Reynolds is such a good runner, most of his passes are/were designed for him to throw on the run with sprint outs and boots. When he dropped back, he usually had time to throw as both teams dropped in coverage rather than blitz a lot.

No arguments from last night mh. Reynolds was outstanding.

TD called back on penalty and fumbles (especially the one on the 1 yd line) killed North's chances.

Lafayette at North Bullitt moved from 7:30 kickoff to 8:00 per the AD at North.

I would have to up it to 49 - 7 Franklin. Waggener lost a lot from a team that finished on a slide last season.

MH, Who is going to get the start at QB for East. Johnson or the Bowles kid? I liked what I saw from the Johnson kid last year.

North was without their 1st QB Reynolds due to injury (didn't dress) and played a junior at QB that had very little experience. North should be ok when Reynolds gets back and Western should fair quite well in their new district.

North moved the ball consistently against each team. West Jessamine was not very competitive and North scored at will. Versus Henry, North scored several times and moved the ball well. Versus Valley (the only "game-type" portion of scrimmage) North moved the ball downfield each time they had ball except for once when they fumbled on first snap of series that Valley returned a short distance for a score. Defensively, North played pretty well except for one long run by Valley. Will get a better idea this Friday when they play Western in a game-situation scrimmage.

Each team gets two scrimmage opportunities. Each scrimmage can last up to 3 hours. Number of teams involved doesn't matter.

If you get a chance to see North Bullitt play this year, check out their defensive tackle #67. Jimmy Blandford 6'3" 275 lbs. Has played middle LBer the past two years. He will absolutely dominate on the LOS. He has received a ton of mail from lot of big schools. Was invited to spring games at U of L, Tennessee, and Mississippi this year. Coaches haven't pushed his name much because he wasn't concentrating on academics the way they wanted. Just another piece to add to North's puzzle.

North may or may not be better, but they are talented and return a lot of starters. I think they have 6 or 7 kids that have started 22 or more varsity games. Can't beat experience when building a good team.

North Bullitt - RB - Dalton Cissell QB/S - R.D. Reynolds Lineman - Jimmy Blandford

North Bullitt returns 15 of 22 starting positions including 6 kids that have started the past 22 or more games. Senior R.D. Reynolds at QB was a Tremendous 26 pick at safety and Junior Dalton Cissell was the #3 rusher in the state last season with 195 yds per game along with being named by opposing coaches as District Player of the Year as a sophomore. Those two combined for 3,400 yds of offense last season. Although they have yet to prove themselves in the post-season, with 40 kids in junior/senior classes and a ton of experience with talent, they should be very solid this year.

Marion making a run in their district would be a huge UPSET! If scores mean anything, here is something to ponder. Last year, Marion County lost to Bullitt Central??? North Bullitt beat BC 56-0 while Bullitt East beat BC 55-6. North Bullitt returns all but 4 starters from last year while Bullitt East returns a good number on both sides as well. It will be a tall task for Marion to overcome these two plus Larue Co. Then again, thats why they play the game.

From the description, it would seem they are a little behind. When North Bullitt put in bermuda 3 years ago, it was sprigged 1st week of June and was a rice patty for several weeks. It seemed impossible, but by middle of August, it was one of the best natural grass fields around - full, thick and green. It will get there, but it may not be ready for play by opening day.

Except, as we all know, a lot of them have eyesight problems, LOL. They seldom see them as we do. Seroiusly, thanks for all that officiate this great game.

If it did indeed happen the way I described, the problem becomes the fact that these kids that play basketball happen to attend a basketball game at the school and a high-profile parent happens to speak to these kids and their parents that he would not be able to identify w/o being told why they were there. The fact is that kids that are identified as being prospective athletes must be treated very carefully to avoid the perception of recruiting. If they were not athletic participants at the middle school age there would not be a problem. Once again, everyone should promote their school. When you go above and beyond for kids that have an athletic background you raise the perception of illegal contact or recruiting. And, once again, I realize it happens on both sides. In fact, a study done by the Courier-Journal on recruiting several years ago showed that public schools report other public schools more than they report private schools. IF the KHSAA got serious about it and grew a set, a lot of the problems would undoubtedly cease.

I would be all for adding staff but they also need a "spinal cord" transplant.

They are not the property of public schools, but they are not supposed to be influenced to attend another school based on their perceived athletic ability. On your other point, it seemed the evidence was very clear cut when they finally made their ruling.
