Bronco99
I would be interested in hearing everyones thoughts on who could possibly be a team that could pull off an upset in their 4-A district. For example, in district 4-7 can a very much improved Knox Central pull off an upset against Bell Co. or Rockcastle. Can a team that has improved in non-district play, like McCreary Central, come into a strong district like 4-7 and upset Knox Central or Madison Sothern and make it to the playoffs? I think there will be interesting questions like this throughout the 4-A class.

McCreary made great strides last season and while still not among the elite, I don't expect them to be the pushover of years past either. Southern is up and down but fields some very competitive teams many years with some topnotch athletes. Knox has improved steadily since the arrival of Coach Mills and it would not surprise me at all if this isn't the year they get over the hump and join Rock and Bell at the top. I'm going to temper all this with the statement that you can field an awful good football team and still not finish ahead of either Bell or Rockcastle. I agree with you Pepper II, this is a nice overview of the 4-7 district.
Bronco99
Come-on guys! I know there are enough Rockcastle, Bell, Madison Southern and Knox Central fans out there that has opinions, this thread should be full of comments. Also, there are other fans from the other districts that have opinions about those districts....such as..... can Marion County make a run at a district title in district 4-4 under head coach Jeff Robbins? He is a good coach and has done a great job at Marion. Can East Jessamine find a way to beat Boyle County this year in District 4-6? If not why? Who are the possible upset makers? These are the kind of things I would like to here opinions about. I hope everyone is ready to give their opinions, I will be waiting!

Last year, Marion County lost to Bullitt Central??? North Bullitt beat BC 56-0 while Bullitt East beat BC 55-6. North Bullitt returns all but 4 starters from last year while Bullitt East returns a good number on both sides as well. It will be a tall task for Marion to overcome these two plus Larue Co. Then again, thats why they play the game.
