First, is Butler the LBer that wore #11 in scrimmage games? That is the one kid that really stood out in Henry's 1st scrimmage. He was tough! I will go with Henry 28-0.

North Bullitt won 2 TD's to 0 for Western. Western had a athletic team with good size. Most of their success was on screen passes. North drove 80 yds on their first possession of 10 plays and scored. North returned an interception for about 50 yds for their other score in the game-type portion. Western moved the ball but turned it over several times. North's defense has played well in the 2 scrimmages giving up only 1 TD (vs. North Hardin) in the regular game situation portions going against Henry County, Valley, North Hardin and Western. North's offense has been steady but not spectacular. They should fair pretty well if they continue to improve.

EKU, you had North Bullitt 3rd in the 4A rankings you posted last week as well? As most everyone has stated, their is likely a big dropoff after Bell and Lex Cath. North will be a pretty good team this season with return of 2 time District Player of the Year RB Dalton Cissell and a pretty good QB in Jordan Mayberry. I would probably have them down a few more spots however.

I would say 3rd is a little too high a spot for North Bullitt. They do return one of the top RB's in the state in senior Dalton Cissell who has already rushed for 5,000 + yds and a pretty good QB in Jordan Mayberry (1st team All-district), but I would have to rank them somewhere in the lower half of the top ten. I liked Cynical's order except for having Lone Oak in there.

North Bullitt - RB Dalton Cissell. Will enter his senior year with just over 5,000 career rushing yds and 50 rushing TD's. Will get a lot more touches than last season and should have a huge year after rushing for 1,800+ yds in each of the past 2 years.

Dalton Cissell, RB, North Bullitt. Dalton looks to see how far up the list of career rushing yds he can climb. He will begin his senior year at #28 all-time with just over 5,000 career rushing yds and 50 TD's. He should finish somewhere in the top 5 depending on how far the Eagles advance.

Retired, Thanks for the props. Cissell is a good kid, hard-worker, good grades who LOVES to play the game. With 5,000 career rushing yards he is poised to have a big senior year.

I am now hearing that they had a lot of applicants. Some pulled their app's when they heard there would be few teaching openings. Coach Preston will do a good job, but I don't think the red & gold crazies were jumping for joy when they heard this news.

North Bullitt will surprise a few folks. They lost a talented senior group but have Dalton Cissell returning at RB looking to add to his 5,000 career rushing yds. They also have a first team All-District QB back in Jordan Mayberry. They will be big up front with 6'5" 295 lb senior tackle Zack Perkins and 6'3" 275 lb Ivan Tiscendorf leading the way.

Cissell tied his personal best for bench at 365 lbs and set a new PB for dead lift at 580 lbs. Phillips benched 340 and set a couple of state records for his weight class.

In the state Power Meet, Trinity's Tim Phillips won the Most Outstanding Lifter in classes up to 175 lbs while North Bullitt's Dalton Cissell took the honor for classes 185 lbs and up. Ironically, Cissell set a new combined state record only to have it broke a few minutes later by a lifter from Trigg County. Cissell won the overall award due to a higher % of body weight.

Lafayette had a very good front 7 and some real men at LBer. Cissell had his worst game of the year. You may see more of him than you want in this years rematch.

North will also return 1st Team All-District QB Jordan Mayberry who combined for 1,300 yds passing / running combined. North's line will be anchored by senior Tackle Zack Perkins 6'5" 285 lbs. North will also return center Ivan Tischendorf 6'3" 275 lbs as well as 2 other part-time starters up front. BTW -- Its North Bullitt with 2 T's.

Dalton Cissell will be right there. It will be hard because he will not get the media exposure nor does he play against the same level of competition as Phillips or Finch. That being said, he is capable of putting up some big numbers next year and starting the year with just over 5,000 career rushing yds, he will likely finish somewhere near the Top 5 all-time in Kentucky in career rushing yds.

No, if Phillips gets enough touches he has the better shot. Cissell would have to put up huge numbers to offset the schedule the Tim plays against.
