2nd interviews I have heard are Doug Preston and a guy from out in the state I do not know but last name is Gray or Grey.

Preston was introduced today.

A couple I know were Foster and Brohm. Foster had issues with teaching openings. BE hired a coach that fit their vacancies in the building foremost. I do not know Preston but I am sure that program is built on solid ground and he will do good there.

Wow a suppose to be a top program, chooses a coach for football based on teaching openings, that is a first for a top program. Most schools make a spot for their coach they want.

Not with the state budget the way it is now. Schools are having to cut some teaching spots.

Tall Trees, I understand the budget, but if you dont think Male, Manual, X, Trinity, Bowling Green, Bell, or any other top schools would not hire based on coaching ability your are crazy, football brings tons of money to the school if you have a top program. If Redman left Male today, do you think Male would say well we have to look for a coach that teaches Social Studies because that is the spot we have open, yeah right!

Just curious to these two questions:

 

Who got passed on a second interview? Where did you get your info?

I am now hearing that they had a lot of applicants. Some pulled their app's when they heard there would be few teaching openings. Coach Preston will do a good job, but I don't think the red & gold crazies were jumping for joy when they heard this news.

What does Coach Preston teach? I thought he taught ECE? Can't believe Bullitt East would select their coach based on teaching certification? I know that Foster taught ECE as well. I think they selected the coach they wanted, not the coach that fit a teaching opening.
