I get your point. My side of this is a Christmas tourney isn't quite the same as prepping for region or state. Personally, I wouldn't want a regimented schedule for all trips. Most programs fund raise for a couple of years to go on a big trip. You should have some fun on the trip. I get the big boy programs may be different.

What is the point in going to Myrtle Beach and not going to the beach? If all you do is basketball, you blew your chance to teach kids some culture. So they lost a game to a quality opponent in December, they will be fine in Feb/Mar.

Again, only in nky. Collins is good. They would be the 3rd ranked team in nky. They would give the two top dogs a good game. The 8th is very good this year. Several quality teams.

WV is very good. I have been on their bus since the end of last year. They can beat you multiple ways and with multiple people.

Gallatin was not good offensively. I don't hear anyone arguing your point. WV is very good defensively. They took Gallatin out of their game. Gallatin has shot well all season. I give WV credit for GC s sub par game. I'm not willing to say Gallatin can't fix their problems yet. They had several good looks and missed. The season is young. WV is better today.

The better team won. Hope Miles is ok. Nasty dislocation.

Both teams will be factors in the 8th region. There was a lot of talent on the floor for both teams. A fun game to watch.

Why didn't Lee County play Dayton in this tourney? Looks like a competitive game.

Spencer and Gallatin should have earned some respect this week. It is a long season. It will be interesting to see who keeps improving.

Gallatin pressed for a quarter plus two minutes. Good half court defense was their game. Hinson does a good job. They will improve each week. They need a handler.

My issue wasn't the move itself as much as the khsaa accommodated Scott county's request. The khsaa typically doesn't care about most schools requests. I have been to the khsaa office over appeals cases. There is a lot of back scratching that goes on there. Woodford and Scott made out pretty good in this deal. Frankfort got screwed.

True. They also wanted to stay in the 8th where they dominated. But you would have to agree the khsaa does not seem to care about some locations, yet they prioritize other locations. Three Kenton County schools in three regions is absurd.

Wow. I guess Scott County is all powerful. Three Kenton county schools in 3 regions, but they move wood ford County out of region to keep Scott county in the same district. 8th region schools continue to drive through Frankfort to play other regional teams. Crazy.

The khsaa has rules about what students can do once school starts. Most coaches don't care. They want their kids playing somewhere. I'm not a fan of aau, but I would have to admit most kids have a better chance of getting recruited via aau than school ball, so I would hope most coaches would be understanding that kids need to play aau.

I agree. I think any of the top 5 could win the region. I think the 8th will have more strong teams this year.

I guess I was ambiguous. Louisville schools were different. As a white, rural kid it was eye opening to see the urban environment. I played in Rupp when my team went to state. It holds a special place for me. The state tournament was an awesome experience for me. Kids don't seem to care anymore. No programs, inability to watch college games, schools don't support the kids going- when I was in high school your ticket stub was good for an excused absence. Times change.

YUM, diddle, BB&T, Rupp Rupp is larger than the khsaa needs. Attendance is dwindling. I enjoyed Louisville more than Lexington, that should tell you how long I've been going. Freedom Hall was a rocking place when a Louisville school was playing.

Miles is an elite athlete. He will play D1 and you will watch him on TV. Kelch is 6'8 with a good offensive skill set, and a great kid. However, he can't guard a small forward or power forward at a major D1 school. Miles has the athleticism to guard either. Kelch's academics qualify him to play for a military branch. Miles will not have the grades to play at that level(no rap on him, most don't have those grades) Stanley is better than any of SK's guards - not close. He was all region for a reason. Clinkenbeard is good as well although he lacks the athleticism to be D1. It should be a good game, either could win, I like WV.

Left the team for a week, came back and disciplined a kid for missing a Sunday practice.

He may bring players in if that is Calvarys goal. I loved watching Dale play ball and he seems like a good guy. I just don't see him successful building a program.
