  1. Spencer wins without Quan Weaver- or Spencer loses 58-57
  2. Johnny P is the man- he will get them rolling and be strong every year!
  3. Not according to the Cats Pause Preview- they picked Hills, Spencer, North, and then Henry. North Oldham was the only District Champion in 3A to not be picked first or second. So I guess, after winning 18 games the past two seasons the Mustangs still have little respect.
  4. Oh Govenor- Here you go again! You are correct and incorrect. We can pick coaches and we can not pick players, but we have gone from 29 players in 06 to 79 players in 09. I am a little fuzzy in math, but that is a lot more to chose from. I agree with Football Addict that this will be a tough district again. For your 2nd point, Irv Hoffman and Rick Young are great hires. Both have about 15 years of defensive coordinating expereince and about 45 years altogether. They will add to an already solid staff and are solid people as well. WIN/WIN
  5. Yes- prayers for the family from North Oldham- Dave, Doug, and Tom Moore were all super guys that spent a lot of hours making young men better people.
  6. Based on what? One good year and a ton of controversy.
  7. North Oldham Spencer Gooch--- Murray St. Andrew Tuller--- Centre Zach Fisher ---Lindsey Wilson Matt Alward ---Lindsey Wilson
  8. Cograts to Brett and family- and yes he is an awesome young man. He will do well there.
  9. North Oldham's Spencer Gooch signs to play college as a prefered walk on at Murray State University.
  10. North Oldham's Andrew Tuller signs to play his college ball at Centre College.
  11. North Oldham Football has changed their entire culture from losing to winning. We are 18- 6 the last two seasons after going 7-34 the first 4 seasons. The team GPA was a 3.05, so yes you can be successful on the field and the classroom. Great statement to these young men for not giving up.
  12. They got a Howard back! I was wondering did Jackson, Copely, and company leave the program unstable and unstructured? Maybe they always wanted Howard and did not accept those coaches.I find it hard to believe that they took Pikeville that far backwards. Especillaly Mike Jackson, he has done a good job at all the places he has been, plenty of talent, structured offense, hires good people on defense, leads with caring and compassion. Just wondering?
  13. Yes and NO- the next re allign they will probably be 6A.
  14. He will find a way to get it done... why don't you offer some help to make it like it used to be?
  15. Actually that is not the case, OC scheduled St. X, Shelby, and other traditional opponents. North Oldham had Danville, Mercer, Lloyd,Newport, Frankfort, so both had tough schedules. Both teams had tough schedules, and just did not have room or interest. I believe in two yrs, the next time the schedules are up, you will see a game. I believe the last two years would have been really interesting games. Both programs are heading in the right direction. I have heard Coach Martin does not like to play 6A teams when the are only a 3a team. As a general rule, a poor 6a team can beat a solid 3a team just because of numbers. I know on the next schedule North plays South, East Jessamine,J-Town, Moore, Ft. Knox,Trimble,CAL and then their district opponents. Three of those opponents are in bigger divisions, and three are smaller, 4 are in 3a. If North does not play well they could easily lose some of these games and we know the district is going to be real competetive.
  16. That is interesting someone may be trying to fire us up Colonel Mike.
  17. Ok Jake just don't try the fake punt again. The cast on the kid really fooled us, and was a great call. The glory days for North is kind of absurd since the school is 6 yrs old. You are right about one thing though, the district will be very competitive.
  18. Look for the Mustangs to do most of their passes in warm ups this year. I heard they may run 90% of the time this year instead of 75%. There will be about 6 backs rotating in and out. There are about 20 guys in morning weights and 30 in the afternoons. It is starting to get real competitive for spots. Mustangs are also getting some speed from the feeder programs so look for the 6.3 yard average per carry this year to climb. Some of those 7yd carries could go 90.
  19. Need for some people to step up like you said. Jerrett Link and Jakob Manor both started at HB so they will be fine. Austin Peterson could play qb or Fb to fill the void left by chase maddox and matt alward. Need to develop depth at the tackle spot and most of the offense will be the same except for a huge loss with All-State performer Andrew Tuller. Brad Norris and John Askin return at WR. Luke Nolte should take over the kicking duties from Sr. Paul Althoff. Defense could be as good or even better just less depth. Need a corner, Sam LB for 100 tackle performer Tyler Geers. Ben Lowrey and Zack Fisher are lost to graduation so some of those O- Linemen starters from last year( Alex Miller, Zaxh lagrange, Mica Watson) may need to play both ways or some young guys step up and improve in the weight rooom. A lot will be determined on how these guys work in the off season.
  20. Sad news. Prayers to his family, team and friends, from North Oldham.
