I agree with most of what you have stated. I take it you were both a high achiever and student athlete. You were probable more than capable of manageing your time due to your desire to achieve. Unfortantly there are those students and parents who don't share the same desires. I agree that games could be played during testing week but try to keep travel times to a minimum. Without this encouragement some might schedule several away games with extended travel times. You would have to admit traveling on a bus from Lee Co to let's say Letcher Co Central would leave players a bit weary.

While games are fun and are a wonderful part of the high school experience I think testing should take presidence over a sporting event. Students should be taught to prepare for a test in much the same way they prepare for a game. Lots of rest, eat well, focus and put forth your best effort. How many coaches have curfew before a big game? During the week of basketball region tournament there were coaches who would not allow the boys to attend the girls games. They had to be home by 8:00. Testing is one week out of the school year, everyone knows the testing schedule when they are making out the baseball schedule, shouldn't be such a big deal. Coaches schedule around the all "A" tournament, why not schedule around testing as well? Testing well is more important than playing well IMHO.

This decision to play or not to play should have been made by the physician, parent and coach. Since a diagnosis of a completely torn ACL was made I assume the athelete was seen by a physician. The physician should have released her to play or not released her. The parent should heed the advise of the physician and make the decision for the child. The coach should require something from the physician that clearly defines what activity the athelete can participate in. The name of the school has no bearing IMO. We should not pass judgement on the parents without knowing what they were told about risk of playing with a ALC injury, in fact, there might have not been any risk of further injury. In the olympics a girls competed in the downhill slalom with a torn ACL, she didn't do very well but she did ski.

I didn't think he was saying anything negative. I simple had not seen either team play and didn't see that LC dominated the final game. Just wondering if LC was having an off night or was RH having a tremendous night.

Would anyone have a complete listing of players selected for the All Star game? I have not seen one and don't recogonize some of the names.

:thumb: Do you still feel this is true? I watched the final game on TV and LC didn't seem to run away with this team. I didn't feel they were that (muchx3) better than the other team.

I don't think the coaches have voted in the 14th. I think they vote after the state tournament.

Congrats to LCC on a big win. Good Luck in Bowling Green. This was a terrible game to watch. Reminded me of a grade school game but no matter LCC got the win.

Congrats Breathitt on a hard faught win. This was a good game to watch, Breathitt missed at the foul line in the last few minutes but PCC was not able to captilize.

I caught the last part of this game. Congratulations Jackson City!! Cordia played a good game as well they should be proud of their efforts.

This was a fun game to watch. Leslie played with heart and determination. Lee played well just came up short in the 4th. Rich is a player underneath, he can muscle the ball up with the best of em. Congrats to Leslie!!! Kudo's to Lee for a hard faught game and good sportmanship from both players and fans.

If both teams show up and can overcome the nerves it should be a dandy game. Fouls will be huge, neves can make players be a bit over aggressive and they find themselves on the bench the first half. I think this game will come down to the last few seconds. I'll take Leslie by 2 - I think they learned the game isn't over until the horn sounds.

Someone at the game said he was a 2 year holdback. He was big in this game. Morgan from Leslie was awesome. Missed free throws and a turnover gave Hazard the chance to come back. Very good game looking forward to the region.

I agree with Lightning, tempo will be the key. I wonder if Leslie will try the same defense on Hicks that PCC did? Leslie will need to play much better than they did last night or it could get ugly.

I really thought Powell would give Estill more of a game than this. The future does not look so bright for the Pirates.

I agree this should be a good game to watch if both teams show up to play. Fouls could dictate the winner. I think Lee has the better outside shooters so I will take Lee by 6. The regional tournament shoud be a blast. I would not discount Hazard or Leslie - when they are on they can play with either of these two teams.

This was a very physical game. If Buckhorn had converted at the FT line and made some shots at the end they very well could have come away the winner. Leslie was tight and didn't shoot well except for Morgan who came up big for the Eagles. Good to see Hubbard back on the floor. Congrats Leslie, get ready for Hazard!!!
