tiger_alumni_04 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 just wanted to post the score of this game i watched it and it was great game, the tigers will go far if they play with the intensity that they played with tonight, GO TIGERS!! Would like to add that Kyle Howard had around 30 points and Jordan Fugate around 15-18 i dont remember the exact, and also davidson, watkins, thompson and everyone all had great games!
RoundLeather Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Congradulations Tigers! Great win! I though Howard and Fugate done a great job in the first quarter of taking control and setting the pace for the Tigers. I know WYMT said Howard had 31 pts and I believe Fugate had 18. These two seniors led their team just as I expected them to. Howard took a hard fall in the second half but was not going to stay down as he knew his team needed him. These boys played great together tonight. Davidson came in and scored quickly a couple times and made several very nice passes underneath helping the Tigers greatly. Thompson, Watkins, Kilburn all played great D and battled for some nice boards. All these boys got their hands on the ball all night resulting in several Cordia turnovers. This is what it takes to win a ball game, an all out effort. I'm happy for these kids, they have worked so hard for several years and have wanted to do so well for their school and their fans. The Tigers had an awesome fan support tonight and I think it will grow tremendously Friday night. Go Tigers!

Also to remember to always keep the faith.
Augger Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Jackson City pulled off to an early 15 point lead just to let Cordia cut it back to two points a few times. Jackson Shot lights out in the first half and the later part of the second. Cordia played hard and refused to go away though. Cordia center (dont know his name) played real well and had several offensive rebounds. Congrats to the Tigers on their win. Now they can prepare for Leslie.
bigbluefan Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 I caught the last part of this game. Congratulations Jackson City!! Cordia played a good game as well they should be proud of their efforts.
lucky13 Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Big #21 for Cordia is a horse inside. Very impressive. He'll be back next year, won't he? Jackson continues to get big plays from everybody. Stay focused, Tigers, and bring this thing home.
sportsazoid Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Good Job Tigers lets bring the big title home!!!
statmanhensley Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Nice win for the Tigers!!! I would personally LOVE to see a June Buchanan/Jackson City title game.
Big Game Player Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 If Jackson gets a lead from here on out they better be able to hold it or Leslie will take it and not look back. Odd numbers about the foul situation though:eek: , but then again I'm a firm believer that some teams foul more than other and sometimes the numbers aernt close depending on the style pf play of the team. A foul is a foul either way is what I say:thumb:
SoldierOfTheCross Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 A story book season for this tiny program...
RoundLeather Posted March 9, 2006 Posted March 9, 2006 As a neutral observer in this one I felt the officiating was fairly bad. I don't think they cheated. But it wasn't called the same on both sides of the court IMO. When Cordia started fouling on purpose with a coulpe of minutes to go the foul count was already 17-6 and I think it ended up maybe 21-8. Now Tiger fans, don't get mad at me, your boys played very well and I don't think the refs were "paid off" I just think that Jackson City got the breaks because, to me, cordia looked so uncoordinated on offense and Jackson City ran smoothly. But, Jackson City played very well, just need to learn to hold on to a lead. Like someone stated, you have to look at the style of play. Jackson played a layed back 2-3 zone. Doesn't not put you in a situation to get too many fouls and also gives you a better position for a rebound and for the other team to have to climb over more often for a rebound. Cordia, on the other hand, played a man to man in your face type of defense the whole game. Who's going to get more fouls, obvious isn't it. Now off that topic. I'd like to Congradulate Cordia on a great season. They had some big wins this year and lost some really close games but played tough competition. Cordia is always tough on the count that they also play with a tremendous amount of heart. These kids were runners up in their first year in their new 5 team district and I'd just like to congradulate them on a successful year. Thought their fan support was great also.
