  1. He has had a very good season, but size and arm strength are concerns. Hard work will help the arm some, but accuracy and 5-10 yard passes was his strength. Needs a growth spurt. Future at South is bright.
  2. Who does their middle school play? Any good teams? Why wouldn't they play Clay? I heard Clay begged them to. I don't think they played Rock either.
  3. :jump: IMO, the best young talent is at Clay. No doubt. In the next couple of years, this district will flip 1-4!! :jump:
  4. And you all don't have any pass defense!!
  5. I look for a low scoring game. Two keys I think are 1)Burkhart has to play a great game for Rock to win, 2)Ashland's special teams are very good and could decide game. I think Ashland will win 17-12.
  6. How many Warrior football players also play basketball?
  7. Cashen and Lewis are by far the best young QB's in the mountains. The difference between them and kids like Bowling at this time, is size and arm strength. Both are just big strong kids who can throw lazar like. I think Lewis is 6'2 and is a little faster than both at this time. Cashen has more experience and don't make very many mistakes. Good leader. They throw it down the field alot more where as S. Laurel throws short passes and lets veteran senior playmakers do the rest. All three are good, but these two are ahead of the rest of the young QB's, probably state wide as well. :thumb:
  8. I forgot Morgan, he deserves to be there. I was hesitant about Cashen. He had a great freshmen season, has been injured this season, but seems to be back to old self. Schedule may have something to do with this, I don't know. Everybody has their opinions, including me. I have seen about all the QB's in this area of the mountains, and have talked to alot of people that make a living in football in one form or another. From what I can gather, the people say this: Jr-Morgan from Leslie, Soph-Cashen from Corbin, Fr-Lewis from Clay. They are alot of good kids around, these are just the ones they mentioned the most.
  9. While the kid has had a good season, I'm sure he is not being recruited by alot, or any D-1 schools. Ky has Fidler coming in next season, why would they want him. D-2 or NAIA probably.
  10. I'm sorry. Bad comment. Just repeating what I have heard from other teams.
  11. Hart might be a good coach, but no class. Larkey is alot better!! :flame:
  12. I would say you could take this list and add Fidler, Holbrook, Cashen and Fritz and you would have all the best. These are the ones that most everyone talks about.
  13. He needs to carry his team deep into the playoffs. To be the man, he needs to do it on the "grand stage".
  14. I have heard that Cashen is good but I don't understand something. If he is so highly thought of in the nation, then how do alot of people say that he may not be the best in the area.
  15. Not many coaches could take two completely different teams to the playoffs like he has in the last two years. Last years team was strictly an option team with very good senior leadership. This years team has only 5 seniors and attacks thru the air, playing mostly sophomores and a freshman QB. The main thing he's done has been to creat an excitement about football. What once was considered a basketball school only, Steppe has the community abuzz about ...football. The atmosphere at the home games is great and the crowds are tremendous. With a very young and talented team this year and a dominate middle school program, look for Coach Steppe and the Tigers to be a major player in 3A football. :thumb:
  16. Stocker is best player I've seen all year and he's going to UT. Did somebody drop the ball?
  17. Read post #20 and that will answer your question. :ylsuper: Herald Leader with radar guns
  18. It like catching a fish. The more the story is told, the bigger the fish gets. He has went from 81 to 84 mph already. Get real!!
  19. Watched both Alvie and Gott pitch alot. Alvie throws harder than Gott with his top speed being 77 mph. Gott is a good pitcher but doesn't throw as hard as Alvie.
