Bluegrasspreps Class 6A Rankings - October 4th
Based on the way they played Friday night, I'm surprised that St. X. did not drop further than one spot. When the wind blows right, you can still detect a residual rancid order rising off of the Field Turf at Popa Johns Cardinal Stadium.

KHSAA Football Alignment for 2011-2014 announced
The True 6A State Championship game has been moved back from Bowling Green to Louisville's Papa Johns Cardinal Stadium, and the date has been moved up a couple of weeks from the first week in December to the third week in November. At this time St. X., Trinity, Male, or Manual will be crowned as State Champion, with final confirmation coming two weeks later from the KHSAA. :ylsuper: Now it's time to think about the biggest positive about this new alignment....MONEY, MONEY, MONEY....and how we are going to spend it all.

With the extra money we'll make on the playoff game (which will be in much better weather than December and attract a much bigger crowd), we'll be able to buy ESPN GAMEDAY busses.

If this thing is to happen, I hope that we have a six-team district with X, T, Manual, Male, Ballard, and Eastern, and only the top 2 teams qualify for playoffs. This would give Male and Manual an opportunity to begin having their big rivalry game again on Thanksgiving Day.

Is Guru a Pot stirrer?
I for one am glad that the Guru has brought a little "EDGE" back to the BGP footbal forum with these hard-hitting quiries. From what I see and hear, the interest level in the site has been greatly rekindled. KEEP IT UP BIG GUY!! :thumb:

I guess if you do stick them in the same district, it will certainly please a lot of the schools who can now annually play for the Class 6A Runnerup Trophy. I guess it is only right to set up your playoffs so that the best teams cannot possibly advance beyond the Regional Final. What a ridiculous thing to do! :irked: Oh well, at least the X/T programs will reap a monetary bonanza on the Playoff Game.

St. Xavier / Butler predictions
The big questions here for St. X. are: 1. Since the Tigers obviously do not have anyone capable of performing as a normal QB, should they just run a wildcat offense with Daylen Hall deep and Lamont McMurray and DeVontae Beach stationed on either side of him in the backfield? Just forget the pass since we don't have any receivers either. 2. Will Daylen Hall and Lamont McMurray even be able to play this week after the injuries suffered in the Trinity slaughter? 3. If the Tigers switch to a totally close-to-the-vest offense and relie on their defense, will the defense be able to pursue and tackle well enough to prevent Butler from scoring 48? If I sound upset, it's because I am! :irked:

St. Xavier / Trinity predictions
Whoever makes the least mistakes tonight will claim the victory, and I like the senior leadership at St. X. above the sophomore leadership at Trinity in getting this done. The Ox says: Saint Xavier 17 - Trinity 14 Tonight's the night...LET'S GET'EM TIGERS!!

How many AP voters will vote Bowling Green #1 in 5A this week?
I think another key adjunct to this question is that based on both teams results against Trinity could and should Bowling Green jump over Highlands in the BGP Rankings?

Trinity at Bowling Green Predictions
I don't know about you, but I don't consider it an exaggeration (or "hyperbole" for those who don't know what "exaggeration" is) but serious and factual when a Bowling Green team, who by their own admission is not as strong as the past couple seasons, is about to confront a Trinity team whose resume includes the following: - a sophomore WR who won the State 3A 200m title as a freshman - a sophomore LB/DE who has claimed two (2) defensive MVP honors at national level camps, one of which was at the University of Oklahoma - a sophomore QB who has completed 75% of his passes for 846 yards so far - a returning senior RB who rushed for over 1,500 yards, who is backed up by a junior RB and a sophomore RB who both have as much talent as the starter - an OL that returns most starters for last year's State Championship Runnerup team - ETC., ETC., ETC.....I could go on and on... This is fact and not fiction! :scared:

Trinity at Bowling Green Predictions
I hate to be the bearer of bad tiddings, but this Trinity team is VASTLY superior to any of the Rock squads you have faced in the last decade. If you have ever imagined what it would be like if you could consolidate all the best players from Warren County on your team, you are about to find out times a factor of 10, as Trinity has collected the absolute best from Jefferson County and they are heading to Bowling Green. These players possess powers far beyond those of mortal men. :isurrender: Moreover, after being upset 17-10 last Friday by one of the better teams in the nation, Cincinnati St. X., these Rocks are molten hot with anger, and are ready to take it out on their next opponent. I'm afraid that when they leave Bowling Green Friday night, you just may think that your city has once again been visited by the remnants of Hurricane Ike. You may want to get an early start and seek shelter now. :scared:

Trinity at Bowling Green Predictions
I would dearly love to see my Purple Wave friends get a big victory over the Rock juggernaught, but the only way I can see it happening is if Bowling Green can get on the board first and then dial up a severe storm which causes the rest of the game to be cancelled, but how often does that occur? The final score of this one is a little hard to predict, since I'm not sure how long Builder Bob will leave his pro-like junior and sophomore stars in the game before replacing them with backup seniors and freshmen. Going on the assumption that substitutions will not occur until 2 minutes are left in the game: The Ox says: Trinity 59 - Bowling Green 14
