You, at least, were obviously taught your lesson well.

Saint Xavier /Central predictions
Central is always a tough, physical fray for the Tigers. We come into this game all banged up, and if it goes as usual, we will come out of it even more banged up. With our top receiver out for the season, and our second receiver and top yardage running back both serving temporary suspensions, we will once again try to create field position advantages and points with our defense and special teams. Offensively, St. X. will try to avoid mistakes by utilizing their conservative, old style, grind-it-out, return-to-the-mid-80's formula, which has served them well in past times of trouble. The only problem here is that the Tigers are missing the big experienced horses up front. Much like last week against Male, this should be a low scoring, tight game. The Ox says: St. X. 20 - Central 13 GO TIGERS!! :ylsuper:

Manual / Seneca predictions
These teams have played two common opponents to date, Central and Fern Creek. Manual defeated Central 31-21 and Fern Creek 59-14, while Seneca defeated Central 47-32 and edged Fern Creek 29-26. If you call the Central games a virtual wash and focus on the Fern Creek results, plus consider that Manual has faced much stiffer competition to date, it looks like a win for the Crimsons. The Ox says: Manual 38 - Seneca 27

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Yes, but whenever you have an enclosed area (a simple fence with gates will do...a dome is not needed), there are just so many bodies that can be accommodated whether they are sitting, standing, or both. It's back to the truism I mentioned earlier that you can only get so many sardines in a can. The numbers I have noted above for the various stadiums is supposed to be seating capacity only, and does not include standing room. It is this maximum combined number, and the criteria used to establish it, that I am trying to obtain. Earlier in this thread Mayfieldsportsfan and jpa2825 said there were occasions at Mayfield and Highlands where they had to stop selling tickets and close the gates, but they didn't know what that sellout number was. That is the number I'm trying to find. Once again here is the thread topic: How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium? Is there a maximum amount, and who determines what that number is? Is it a legal ordinance, Fire Marshal rule, based on parking availability, or what governs the sellout limit? Any help would sure be appreciated. :thumb:

The AP Pollsters strike again!
What even made this more interesting is that Central Hardin ranked 30th out of 36 teams in 6A by the Lit. Ratings which were also released today.

The AP Pollsters strike again!
If you look at the 5A AP Poll this week, you'll see that our mysterious "Bowling Green is #1" voter has struck again after hiding in the bushes for a couple of weeks. Would the secret voter please raise their hand? Something zanier occurred in the 6A AP Poll where the 18 voters collaborated to allow powerful Central Hardin (4-0) to come out of left field and enter the Top 10 at position #9. So far this season, 6A Central Hardin has defeated 4A Logan County (1-4) 31-14, 3A Spencer County (0-5) 38-12, 3A Elizabethtown (0-4) 28-26, and 5A Ohio County 37-21. This is beginning to serve as a weekly supplement to my comic strip reading.

Today's Lit Ratings give a very revealing response to your quiry, Guru. Trinity is a 15-point favorite over Ryle, 31-point favorite over Ballard, and a 32-point favorite over St. X.. My gosh, they are even 48-point favorites over powerful Simon Kenton. I guess the only thing left to fight for in Class 6A is the State Runnerup Trophy, available to one of the lucky teams who occupy the opposite bracket from the MIGHTY ROCKS. :notworthy: :isurrender: :notworthy:

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
The numbers were all supplied by the individual schools to the KHSAA as part of the information which is submitted for membership listing, so I would imagine they are fairly accurate.

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Here are some stadium seating capacity numbers for some of the more popular schools on BGP. If I have left off your school, I apologize. How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
I just had a breakthrough which answers one of my questions. In exploring the KHSAA site, I found that if I click on the directory of member schools, I can click on a school and find out all kinds of good information, including stadium capacity. War Memorial Stadium in Mayfield is listed at 5,000. :jump: The strangest thing I've noted so far in looking at the list is that Southern High School's stadium is 8,500, while Male is only 8,000. I find that hard to believe. Now that I have a source for stadium seating capacities, I am still looking for answers on what was the largest crowd you know being admitted to your stadium, at what point will they declare it a sellout and stop admitting people, and what criteria is used to establish the number used to close the gates. Still need your help!

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Is there a web site somewhere (maybe somewhere in the KHSAA site) which notes stadium seating capacity? I look forward to seeing your final number, Toothpick. By the way, is the area designed for tailgaters inside the confined stadium area where the tailgaters have to purchase game tickets to enter?

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Gosh, it would really be neat to know what criteria the fire marshals used to say that's enough, no more, close the gates.

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
If my memory serves me correctly, GRC was ranked in the Top 5 that year, and I think the crowd at the Fairgrounds that year for the St. X./GRC game was around 12,000.

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Boy, do I remember that game! When George Rogers Clark ran their wing-t, I never could tell who had the ball. But most of all, I still cry in my soup thinking of St. X. being stopped at the 1-yardline at the end of the game, when they were going for the win.

Male/Ballard Predicitions
Question for the Male fans: How will the Bulldogs stop the Alley-Oop passes to Parker? The Male DB's appear too small to jam him at the line, and too short to jump with him on the high passes.

With X scoring with 18 seconds left to beat Male is it time to...
Actually, jimmyref, I think Coach Wolfe already has the current Male team performing at an "overachiever level" given the talent he has to coach. The biggest improvement they have made over past years is dumping that suicidal defense so that they are no longer giving up so many big plays. It's a lot harder for teams to score on the Bulldogs now since they are forcing you to piece together 10+ play drives to get points on the board.

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
Thanks jpa! There is some meat in this response. I just think it would be interesting to find out what the max. numbers are for the various stadiums, who set the number, and on what basis was the number established. :thumb:

Gosh, I've already been chastised before I could even comment on the many virtues of Builder Bob. Oh well, back to the regularly scheduled program. P.S.: CentreRocks, I love the umbrella photo you posted. That's one for the ages! :thumb:

Yes, the regular season game was televised two or three years ago by CBS Sports. It was a major production showing practice and events leading up to the game as well as the game and aftermath.

How many tickets are you allowed to sell at your stadium?
There may not be any or few Fire Marshals on BGP, but there are a lot of individuals here who are heavily involved with workings of high school athletic programs who could provide some answers.
