  1. Look at Cantrell's rankings. According to that it looks like the 15th is the weak region!
  2. To be so smart they sure make a lot of dumb turnovers!!!!!
  3. Maybe you should have come to the tournament before you say things haven't changed in the last month. I am sure they couldn't have won their tournament on just help from the officials!!! :thumb:
  4. Obviously you have never heard some of the things said to the refs at a Paintsville game from BMR. I am not sure they would allow that on HBO!!!!
  5. No, they have lost three games (Lawrence Co., Milton, FL, and Ridgeview, SC). The last two in the Glynn Academy Tournament in Brunswick, GA. They are currently 9-3!!
  6. Forgot about the centralized location of Lexington with the rest of the state!!
  7. I think Tackett was selling cars at Nicholasville Toyota, but I am not sure!!
  8. There are no big men, they are all "short" big men!!
  9. That doesn't guarantee a repeat, look at Paintsville in 97 and 98. They had VanHoose, Tackett, and Josh McKenzie in 97 and VanHoose and Tackett in 98 and didn't win another title. Very hard to repeat, not impossible, but hard!!
  10. Don't know the kids name but I was told last night that #14 is the real deal. I'm sure he must be one of the three heads. As for the defense, I'm sure the Tiger unit has heard enough about the rushing yardage they gave up last week to fill the Big Sandy. They seem like a group that takes a lot of pride in their work, and that pride was dented. Look for them to lace up the shoes a little tighter tonight and show what there made of. The MASH unit has been emptied out for the most part and a full slate of Tigers should be ready with an exception or two. We might even have a little surprise in store......
  11. I got to see the "King", Johnny Cox (Hazard), Freddie Maggard (Carr Creek), and other players from the good ole' days. There were not to many players from the "modern era." J. R. VanHoose was there with some Paintsville players (VanHoose, Slone, Pack, etc.), Danny Adams (former Magoffin Co. coach was there) along with the current Magoffin Co. coach, Betsy Layne's coach was there, and others. I thought it was a great crowd and it was great to see all of those people who you just read about!!!
  12. Ace....these are the kind of comments that started the split. Your Little League "County" Board Members from last year have decided not to come back. Some decided on their own, others from fear. I don't have a problem with any of the former board members leaving for either reason, I have a problem with starting a league over petty jealousy. I'm sure your spin will be totally different from mine, and again I don't have a problem with that, but the facts are, principals started it (or at least the word from the board office said they did), the meeting was at the board office, ran by people associated with the board, and a huge portion of the money given to start the league came from board members, or people in the administration office. Again, when I coached I didn't coach county and city kids. I never drafted county or city kids, I coached and drafted players I felt would help the team. Some of my favorite players I coached were county kids, and I would help them with any problem and time, day or night. Your 13 city 3 county comment was uncalled for. If your county school system hadn't got mad and took their bat and ball home, the make up of the board would be totally different.
  13. IMO dunking is just worth two points and is not important. It may get the crowd going and yelling but if that is all that you can do you are not a complete player. I have seen many people who do crazy dunks in warm-ups then they get into a game and can't hit the backboard on a jumpshot. Give me a well-rounded, fundamental player, and I will take him over a "high flyer" any day!!!!!!!!!
