  1. As an Elliott fan, I have to agree with you. No matter what went wrong (or right) in that game, SV won. I also agree that Holmes is too low. I have not seen them play, so I never make game predictions, but I think they have proven themselves worthy.
  2. OK... Back to the game. I don't see Russell hanging close. Maybe EC will get some much needed sub experience. I see Jacob Ison getting valuable time. He is a necessity in the future, and can be a tool in arsenal at tournament time.
  3. I agree that T, Kinpp has some of thy most dynamic POTENTIAL in his class. I am not sold on "Best" yet.
  4. My bad.... I didn't know margin of victory had to be 40 points to classify as a "beatdown." In your original you also didn't specify "immediate future." The game though, should be one sided.
  5. Well, with the weakness of this poll, I can find some quick errors. I don't think Holmes belongs at #8 (surely few others think they do). Even though I am an Elliott supporter, I can't see SV behind Elliott. They only experience we had with them this year didn't go our way. I really look FWD to the post-season.
  6. Well, thanks for clearing that up. Glad the AD have communicated. It's a curious thing... that's for sure!
  7. That may be right. I just remembered the 2-2 votes for years that didn't allow seeding (but I would say you are right about the majority to change the setup). As far as Morgan being unhappy with East, the way I understand it (and please correct me if I am wrong), East's assertion that their showcase loss in Lexington WAS a tournament game played a major role in the original brackets. It wasn't until after Morgan petitioned KHSAA to clarify the definition of a "tournament" that the district had to be decided by a coin flip. If I am wrong on this issue, please correct me.
  8. Heard that! Actually I started sneaking in an Ale-8 or two in my coat pockets. That way I avoided the concession stand alltogether. Um....wonder if I could sneak in a hot dog from the Frosty Freeze? Probably not a good idea.
  9. I am starting to wonder about next season. East and West ALWAYS wanted to seed. Lewis hung with Elliott and "not seed" mentality. WHen Morgan replaced Lewis, we began seeding in thier second year with the 62nd district. Since Morgan is now unhappy with East, what is the possibility that they reverse their stand on seeding next season (and agree to the blind draw again)?
  10. Couldn't agree more. There once was a retired jersey in the gym. It's now been moved to lobby ?? I think the gym is where these jerseys belong. It wasn't the lobby where these kids spent thousands of hours alone refining their skills. Maybe they should retire my jersey for the lobby. That's where I've spent thousand of hours waiting in the concession stand line.
  11. Just want to say "Thanks" to the Ballard team for making the trip. It doesn't matter to me what brought you to Sandy Hook (whatever has been worked out is well worth it), you did what few other schools this distance from EC would do. Thank You! I am impressed with the work ethic of Ballard. They were down by as many as 17, and cut the lead to 8. There was no stop to them. Also got the pleasure of giving several Ballard fans directions for the best way out of town--they were going to seek a second opinion though (they can't believe that 173 is the best way in from Morehead)! Great people to talk with, and it was a pleasure to see their team play!
  12. Are these two teams not 1-1 against each other (although Elliott's win against these athletes came two years ago)? I would love to see a rematch with SV. That would mean that both teams made it to Rupp and both are winning.. As for Ballard.... I don't know. Unlike some, I refuse to make a prediction because I have not seen each team play (in person).
  13. Um... I am just not getting it. The "culture shock" issue isn't about the size of the crowd, the enviroment of the game or whatever else you think. It's a little different here than in Louisville. In fact, even the Mason Co. fans made comments about the roads and such. I will be more than glad to give Ballard a "Great Job" if they win. Just like I did for SV, Ceader Hill, Anderson Co, West Carter, and Morgan Co. Those were all great games to watch (even though my Elliott team was outplayed in some of them).
  14. Hope the word filters down quickly. I know it is a big deal for a team to get to the regional tourney. It amounts to several thousand dollars for the schools. I know nobody wants to be the four seed, but just because you are the fourth seed in this year's tourney is no guarantee that you won't be in playing in Morehead (you would just have a tough road to get there).
  15. I don't think there is anything for you or Eta to be offended by from the mentioned post. It seems to me the post was degrading Elliott County culture and transportation network. The post continues then to address the Elliott pride. I didn't see anything for you to become offended by?? I always root for Elliott... from there I look at the game. If a team plays hard and respectful--and another does not--then the choice is easy for me. I don't let the action, comments, or opinions of others influence my decisions. I am an adult and I draw my conclusions from facts (and the game) .... not how posters on a message board portray themselves or the team that they represent... But that's just me.
  16. :thumb: now spin it 180 degrees! Someone should add a "thumbs down" to the icon list! Like I said, I have never watched Ballard. I am just hoping your prediction is wrong.
  17. Obviously I am pulling for Elliott, but I have not seen Ballard play--so I can't make an informed prediction. I will tell you something that absolutely cracks me up (and it's been mentioned in this thread more than once) though: Several people have mentioned the poor roads leading into Sandy Hook as a possible contributing factor to this game. The funny thing is, when Elliott County goes on the road to play, the roads are never mentioned as a factor. The Elliott team bus has to travel the same roads out that everybody else travels on the way in. Some may argue that "they are used to it." but that is not a very convincing argument to me. I have traveled these same roads all my life....and the bus ride still makes me sick.
  18. I, for one, have been seeing the irony of this situation all week. I liked the random draw of 62nd districts past. When Morgan was placed in our district, East and West had the necessary votes to force seeding. Elliott and Lewis had both resisted seeding for years. I'll never forget a comment from a school representative supporting seeding: "Now we will be able to do the tournament the right way!" Doesn't look to me like the planning was done "the right way."
  19. Great game. Mason continues to be a threatning team from outside. Ended up sitting by Trevor Setty. He and his friends came over and sit on row one of Elliott's side. They took some abuse, but never failed to cheer for their team. As must as I wanted to dislike him (because of last year), it was impossible. A very respectable young man!
  20. Good job! Your district comrads are proud that you netted the out of region win!
