  1. You're a stand up guy. Thanks! I hope we get to see each other play at Rupp.
  2. I am only complaining IF an entire section (by that I mean dozens of seats) is "reserved." How many seats does this Mr. Holbrook need? I have no problem having him a seat saved. I hope he enjoys watching his grandsons play. He deserves it! ... you know what though? There are grandparents from other schools too.
  3. I agree.... the seats were "reserved" at mid-court on the "Visiting" side. Assuming East fans sit on the traditional "home" side, then there will likely be seats taken from the Elliott side tonight. I don't know though. I wonder how others would have reacted if Elliott had reserved some seating last year during districts. West Carter never sets aside seating for school officials. I am not sure about Morgan. Again, all seats are sold as General Admission.
  4. I wonder about seating... reserving? Last night there was a section in the lower arena that was "reserved" for "School officials." Only about 20 seats were reserved, and most went unoccupied for the evening. I was under the assumption that since all tickets were sold as "General Admission" and a first come, first served basis that if I were to be first in line, I would get first choice of seats. Will there be a larger section "reserved" for school officials tonight?
  5. I like the AP poll. Argument can be made that Elliott and SV should switch. The argument has validity. I can't wait to see Holmes play (I just hope we're both at Rupp).
  6. I respect Coach Perry and wish her well. I expect West to find a well-qualified coach. I am really proud of the Elliott County girls. As for coach Brown, I didn't like him. Our personalities clashed. It happens. He did a great deal for the West Carter program, and future generations of Lady Comets will benefit from the foundation he helped lay at WC.
  7. Yes, I'm well aware of your support. That's why I wondered why your original post said "good story." I didn't think you meant to say that.
  8. Wow... Eta gets the support of the masses. From me as well. Eta's top 5 seems logical to me--now, as far as order I am uncertain. Just my personal opinion, I would put SC, Holmes, then EC.
  9. Way to go girls. I am really proud of you. Can you imagine the looks you would have gotten 10 years ago if someone said Elliott would knock out West Carter in the first round of districts? .. Now, take care of business in the championship game. The regional title is NOT out of your reach! Congratulatons.
  10. Good story? I didn't appreciate the fact that the author left out encouraging statistics--and included numbers that a school has NOTHING to do with (tax assessments determine local funding). I see the successful basketball season as a stepping stone for future successes at Elliott County. Students in the district now understand that they CAN compete on the state level (not just in sports). When a poorly written newspaper column continually bashes an area (and points out areas where work is needed--but provides no suggestions), then the work done to foster a positive self-image is reversed. I am disappointed with the article and the columnist.
  11. Oh... Okay. I thought maybe some analysis... Not necessary though!
  12. It's been a GREAT season for the Lady Lions! We're proud of your accomplishments-- Sweeping the 62nd district regular season, first winning season, defeating GRC, Scott County, Boyd, and Ashland. It's been a memorable season!
  13. As a West Carter graduate ('94), and an Elliott fan of 10 years, I must say that I will miss my school being a part of the EKC. I've enjoyed the competition, tradition, and excellence of the conference over the years. I am confident the EKC will continue to spotlight the hard working student athletes of the member schools.
  14. Got it! Agreed - A tightly called game doesn't favor Elliott--the lack of a developed bench is always a tough to overcome when the fouls start mounting.
  15. An attorney? He's already "lawyered up?"
  16. at Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY) Ballard (Louisville, KY) 77, Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY) 74 Interesting ... There is obviously a "margin of error," but it's still cool to "play" some teams from other areas of the state!
  17. Just curious.... which side do you think would get the "breaks" in this game?----Assuming the refs you referred to were calling the game.
  18. Since I have seen both teams play -- I'll make a prediction: Elliott wins by 11 (This is an optimistic prediction, but I believe somewhere in the ballpark).
  19. I didn't pick West.... but I sure thought they were the second best team in the region. Starting to believe I was wrong. There seems to be an opening there. I am sure there will be some quality applicants (East, RH,.....)! Good Job RH!
  20. Same thought. Good job WC. I still believe that West is the second best team in the region.
