  1. I do not believe that students in high school should have to pay for attending a game. Moons ago, when I was in school, students got into home games for free. I didn't miss a home game my senior year. Schools are trying to "make up" the difference in funding with athletic income. I don't like it. I have seen SOME students (and adults) admitted for free, while others are required to pay. I REALLY don't like this!
  2. Congratulations Holmes. This Elliott fan expected it. Expected it so much so ... that I left Rupp this afternoon. Wish I had stayed now. Great Job.
  3. It's great that, despite talk before the game, EC and Holmes fans seem to be well behaved. Both are passionate--that's for sure. So far I am proud of my school's fans for not being sore losers--after the game nor now. Most seem to accept the outcome of the game for what it was: two great teams fighting for another game. I was happy to see the Holmes kids (and adults) clap for Elliott upon presentation of their trophy. Classy! I'm gonna miss basketball! Only 8 more months until next season. Go Elliott!
  4. WOW... I absolutely LOVED Central's dance/cheer/band section. It made me want to leave the good seats and go sit with them. They would not have let me stay though. I don't have the moves. They were in sync.. that's for sure. Good Job!
  5. Probably not win the state three years in a row. .. but last year and this year were both possible. Doesn't matter now anyway. Next year's class (and coach) has work to do. Let's not weight them down with cares of the past. I just hope that the team/coach has the support of the masses next season. Holmes... wow...
  6. Just back from the game. This one hurts. There is some consolation for me though: Elliott lost to a whale of a team. Congratulations Holmes, you are everything you have been advertised to be. It's been a pleasure debating the issues with your fans! Now, enjoy the finals. I'm jealous. Thank you Team Elliott. The old adage goes something like this: "Someone may fill your shoes, but they will never take your place!" Your place is forever etched into the hearts of those who you have taken along with you on this incredible journey. I am proud to be one of those who has done nothing more than "tag along." To this year's seniors, enjoy the future...it's bright. To the rest of the team.. can't wait until next season! Thanks!
  7. Really? I am disappointed with myself. I kept waiting for the replay--and it never came (well, I guess it did)! ...and I am not surprised that it won the title "Crazy," as that's what I was thinking.
  8. For the third straight... I am not taking a guess at this game. I do know that I am going to do EVERYTHING just as I have for the past two nights. If Holmes playes like they did in the first half--bragging rights. Elliott is capable. Either way, a big "Thank You" to all the teams. It's been a good tourney! GO ELLIOTT!
  9. Really? Well, I guess you saw something I didn't. May have happened. Not for me to say. Ethan's response was something like "Look at the clock... I'm smarter than that" ...and he is. I really look FWD to the video evidence from this call. I am confident that you are wrong.
  10. Anderson had the largest fan base last night--they were in full force.
  11. WKYT said (last night) that they were expecting a record crowd tonight. I assume then, that a sell out, is a record? What exactly is a sell out? 24,000?
  12. I don't know. Almost everybody I talk to here want SV to win. Lots of fans want the rematch. I don't know how the players feel though, as they would likely want to win the Anderson game first.
  13. I hope you're right. Elliott does, generally, spreads the offense around. My biggest fear is that the offense may not produce. We have seen that happen several times this season. Who cares why the offense does not produce--be it the opposition's defense, off shooting night, or tidal forces. The offense can't be off from here on out.
  14. Ha. Not sweeping the awards banquet.
  15. Theoldguy: "No High School student from one of the teams playing on the court should be sitting up in the upper decks while an adults sits behind the basket. Adults had their turn when they were in HS, now it is the turn of the kids!" AGREE AS WELL!
  16. Elliott does not have a huge student section. Take away the basketball team, the cheerleaders, and the band--the school's student population drops by 50 or so. Not many students = not a huge student section. Adults seem to do thier part though.
  17. And I just like Elliott. Doesn't mean that they will win--nor does it mean that they won't. I didn't vote in the poll yet--will reserve that for a while. I like Elliott's chances, and I am sure that Anderson likes theirs. :thumb:
  18. Would love to see a mountain team in the finals, my preference is Elliott---but I realize it is a "tough row to hoe!"
  19. I know nothing about Valley except their game with Elliott. However, if they have not fixed their free throw shooting, then there is area for concern.
  20. I assume. Rowan girls had a parade when they won regionals last week. I guess celebrating success is out of fashion in some areas. Not here.
  21. I agree that the boy's tourney was the better officated of the two.
  22. ..and I just gave my opinion. Opinions are subjective, irony is not. Quiet honestly, I did not get defensive. I know no referee personally, and I could care less what anybody thinks about them. Dialogue is a good way to become informed though, so I'll read on.
