Yep. There was a movement in the KHSAA to ban this back when the whole private/public thing was in full flames. But it never came to fruition.

Problem with that is that the AD has several sports to be overseeing and cannot, at least at the smaller schools, be at every football practice when they have a volleyball, two soccer teams, two golf teams, and a cross country team to be overseeing also. In addition, at our school AD is also the groundskeeper and is mowing the fields for the two soccer teams, the football teams, as well as keeping the field mowed for the recreation soccer league and baseball/softball fields.

Great hire from PCHS. He gets this team playing defense and rebounding and they are a sleeper team for a top 5 spot in the region.

I would classify is as a potential arch rival for the 10th region A crown. I have long said St. Pat is a sleeping giant and if that school ever decides to be a major player, they could come close to dominating the 10th region on both boys' and girls' side. Imagine a team where you get a single player, whether it be the best to 2nd or 3rd best, from Mason, Fleming, Lewis, Bracken, Augusta, Nicholas, Deming, Harrison, and whatever counties are over in Ohio. I would send a bus to each of those counties every single school day to pick up, at a central location, whomever would want to come to St Patrick for school.

From the comments on here, it seems that BB has had an issue since it was decided to let Ray Kues go. BAD DECISION that was.

There is a KRS statue preventing anyone other than the state board of education or it's designee from making a policy preventing athletes from 4th grade up to try out for any varsity sport. That was determined by the state legislature many moons ago. Now the coach can cut them but cannot prevent them from trying out.

Pendleton Country Club is located between Butler and Falmouth. 18 holes and is a nice course. http://www.pendletonky.com/ Also, Kincaid Lake State Park has a 9-hole course. Pendleton has won 3-4 regional tournaments in golf and has produced several very good golfers. Steve and Lisa Houchens have won numerous times throughout NKY and the state. Brad Cox, Andrew Spencer, Mark Browning were all very good golfers in high school. Besides the 3 boys that I mentioned on the girls side, they made their first appearance in the KHSAA two years ago and Ashley Pugh is presently playing at St. Catherine's for golf and basketball. SHe had a hole-in-one in her last collegiate golf match this past season. Kristen SMith and Haley Hart are sophomores-to-be and both qualified for the state tournament last year. Pendleton has a very nice golfing history.

He is a good golfer. Timmy Cooper, Phoenix Ramsey and Lane Weaver are the exceptional golfers on the PCHS team. Phoenix and Lane were tied for 3rd in region last year and Timmy almost made the cut at state. I think missed it by one stroke. Mason is on the team but was not one of the five that played at regional/state winning the regional title.

Dad is superintendent and lives about 6-8 houses from the school. I guess that would classify as ties.

Brad Cox at Pendleton County is a fine young assistant that is going to make someone a nice head coach. Would be a good fit at Bracken County. Chad Persinger and Patrick Kelsch are fine young men and coaches that also would be good hires. The girls side would be sorely disappointed to lose Coach Kelsch, the man of a 1,000 picture avatars.

Depends on who they get to replace Mac as baseball coach when he hangs the spikes up.

Except the students and most fans didn't stay for the 2nd game. They paid $5 for their team's game.

On the bolded, I agree. I turned in a scouting report from 2 games I watched them get a big lead in the 1st half and give it back in the 2nd half. I put weather the storm and they will give you a chance to get back into the game. I heard Coach Douglas lament to her team about their inability to put teams away.

Absolutely without a doubt Coach Buser ran the score up on people, leaving her starters into press till late in the game. Did it over and over and over. I could be wrong but I do not think the 10th region coaches ever voted her coach of the year and I believe you could trace it to this.

Tied it at 30 with 1:06 left. Looking at the stats from the first game in which Pendleton won and the second game that Harrison won, all the stats 2 pt fgs made, free throws made, and Harrison's 3 ptrs made and their points scored, they were very close. Only big difference was the made 3's by Pendleton. 8 for 16 first game. 1 for 12 second game.

Ladycats finish the season 14-13. KHSAA scoreboard does not have one of the Ladycats wins from a Corbin tournament despite the coaching staff calling it in several times.

Most disappointing coaching move of the Wildcats staff was taking their team home at halftime of the Ladycats game and not staying to support their Ladycat counterparts.
