I Can think of one instance where a 5-A team was allowed to play in 3-A. I think it was the 2006 season when two schools merged together to become Mercer County. That was a big topic on here when it was happening. The merger did not happen overnight but was in the plan for several years. Mercer went on to win the state title in 3-A for 2006. Now that would be equal to have had Raceland 1-A and 3-A Russell combine for the 2015 season and play in 3-A. I would say that this combination would produce a very good team. I did not think it was fair in 2006 and I would not think it would be fair in 2015. I still have not heard of a good reason for the 2006 merger and still playing in 3-A. They had several years to work on scheduling. I think that the only other good reason for playing down would be a new program getting started. Watusi should remember this.

I would actually like to see Russell sit McKee. Let him heal and get him ready for district play. We will also be able to see how Russell plays with adversity. I actually would like to see our backup in action. I also think we will see more of Conley in the shotgun. He seems to be able to see the field better and find the hole. Lets face it he was in the shotgun for Russell's game winning final drive against Ironton and carried the ball each time if my memory is correct. Conley did gain over 200 yards Rushing against Ashland last year. He would have had more but Baker ran him down at least two times when he would have scored.

I went to a portion of the Russell practice today. I can assure you Russell will is ready for this game even if the coach's decide to sit MeKee.

Well first off I'm back after and 8 year suspension. That has to be a Guru record. I promise to be a model poster. Enough of that. Of the top 10 ten teams in 3-A is there a breakdown of each region they come out of. I'm sure it's changed in all these years.

No you need to clean your ears out and pay attention to what is being said if you are going to start calling people a liar. There were a lot that heard it. It was not said real loud but it was said. It was very obvious that he did not realize he had the mic still on. I'll take my appology once you check it out.

When Raceland went up 20 to 7 and the PA announcer announced over the PA that "LCA might as well pack it up and go back to Lexington" it changed the game. It was like a shot of adrenaline for LCA and a great come from behind win. When you are going to be arrogant you need to cover the mic.

I think we all would. Lets hope they don't.

I have changed my mind about the Tomcats. They pushed Russell all over the field. Period. When you control the line of scrimmage you control the rest of the game. Ashland has a very good team. Don't be one bit surprised if the Super 7 has Ashland rated over Raceland. I have seen them do stranger things when Ashland wins a big game. I have said it before and I will say it again. This just might be the best thing that ever happened to Russell. Getting smacked in the mouth has a tendency to get your attention.

Congratulations to the Tomcats on a great showing. Bottom line is Ashland pushed Russell all over the field at the line of scrimmage. Ashlands Defense spent most of the night in the Russell backfield thus negating the running game and the passing game. Even with four Ashland turnovers Russell had no answer. Once again Congratulations Ashland. Russell will regroup lick the wounds and be ready for next week.

Here is a good way to see if the players can tell the difference. Have both balls available with approximately the same wear. Blindfold the player and give them a ball see if they can tell the difference. You might be surprised with the outcome. You being a Doctor may not be surprised by the placebo effect. It just might be the color thing that the Raceland players don't like. Then again it could be both.

He will get his chance on Friday. If he fails it is not the end of the world. There will be more chances. Who knows he just might rip the Russell defense to threads. I have not seen him play. I'm looking forward to it on Friday although. Keep in mind even if the Tomcats loose that does not mean that this freshman failed. It may just mean that he got his foot in the door.

I have seen some very good Freshman players over the years. Very few but the ones that did play varsity football were good. Coach Hart, I'm sure has a very good handle on it. He can pull the kid out at any time and put the other back in. I have a feeling that Ashland just might see their starting QB for the next four years on the field tomorrow. I just hope the kid gets a fighting chance against the Russell Defense. Don't get me wrong I want Russell o win but I would love to see the kid do well.

I can assure you that he is 100% primed and ready to go. The Russell player may have thought you were a double agent or just maybe someone else started the rumor. You have to watch those guys dressed in orange.
