Coach Graham is probably one of the most underrated coaches in the state. He always has his teams prepared. Ray is a scholar when it comes to football and the X's & O's. Very knowledgeable. On top of all of this he is a great man and a great Christian. A great Christian man that is a great teacher and coach; what else could anyone ask for.

What is going on with this job? I realize that it has not even been a week yet since it was posted, but heard that they wanted to make a decision and one fast. Anyone have any info? Thanks

I ahould have read the question a little more in-depth before responding. The info I gave was on the crumb-rubber fields. If you want Bermuda, etc then that is in addition to the rubber. Sorry

Yes they do. The coaches and players do a great job with it. I truly believe if they had started the season with it last year it would have been a whole different season. What did they do win 3 of the last 4 or something like that AFTER going back to it. I am not knocking the staff since I believe they do a great job and I consider Coach Jones a good friend. I believe he was attempting to do what he believed was the best in order to give his kids a chance to succeed. Coaches, Players, keep up the good jobs.

There is a place (Turf Solutions) that help you get a grant from Frankfort. They then will come in and do the work. It is set up where the grant will pay the majority then the school board, boosters, fund raisers, etc will pick up the rest. If I'm not mistaken, YOUR part can be set up on a 2 or 3 year plan as well. I believe the school part will be about 15-20% of the total. Example would be a $40,000.00 project would cost the school $8,000.00. I am not 100 % on the percentage but I think it's close. Hope this helps. I'm hearing good things from Coach Jones as far as the weight room and YES stick with the double wing. They do a great job with that and most importantly the player buy into it. I look for good things the next couple of years from Estill.

Who did they hire? I heard several weeks back that they gave the recommendation to the site base(?), or the site base gave the name of their choice to the prinicpal(?), but have not heard any names or any news on this since. Does anyone have a name?

This is one of the best if not the best post ever. It comes from a man that is nothing but class and his entire program takes on that class. Great Post, Great Coach, Great Man, Great Friend. You never try to imitate anyone but you do attempt to emulate people that are successful. I am sure I am not the only one that attempts to emulate Coach Buchanan. As usual, even with this post Coach B has done a tremndous job. Hats off to you and all of the coaches in any sport. They miss birthdays, anniversaries, Thanksgivings (on the great years), and never ask for anything other than the opportunity to make a difference. The late nights, weekend staff meetings, early mornings, camps, 7 on 7's, summer practices, and double sessions. Thanks to all that dedicate so much time and effort for the youth of today. If I am not mistaken, the wording "must be publicly posted" or "posted publicly" however the wording actually is, refers to simply posting it where it would be visible to the public if the public happen to be in the right place. For instance, most districts have a board in the central office with all vacancies that the public would see if they happen to be in there. Alot of schools have these same boards with the same listings. It is my understanding that a board in the teachers lounge would be deemed as public. 99.9999999% of the public would never see this board, however, the school system would be in compliance with the requirements. Please correct me if I am wrong but that is the way it has been explained to me and reading the bylaw. I could not get on the KED site tonight to copy the bylaw.

I am sorry I missed this game. This was a battle between 2 good teams and 2 great Coaches. They both always have their teams ready. Coach Buchanan is one of ther best of "game planners" I have seen. Congratulations to Coach Buchanan and the Royals. Coach Foley and his team, way to fight and keep working at the great job your doing at Frankfort. Best wishes to both Coaches and programs the rest of this season and the future.

McCreary is not a 1st year team. They have had football about 15-16 years if I'm not mistaken. They made hude strides last year and the man that started the program has returned this year as head coach. Best of luck to the Raiders. As far as Powell is concerned, they were without 4-5 key players and started 5-6 freshmen on both sides of the ball. I believe they will be without those players at least 2 more weeks due to injuries. Good Luck Betsy Layne and Coach Branham.

I do believe that last years fundamentals started before that staff got there. I have heard that the previous coach before Dahlstrom did not allow Freshmen to come out. Supposedly he told them Freshmen wouldn't help him but sophomores would. Therefore, they were fighting getting the young kids interested again and teaching them the game. I am not saying it was the kids, nor the staff from last year but a combination of several aspects that went on for a couple of years. Best of luck to Rick and the young men at Bo Co. It's an uphill battle but anything worth having is.

They looked good last year. Who else will they scrimmage? I heard the new coach has the enthusiasm and has them headed in the right direction.

I've known Corky for years and he has always been a man of great character. He is definately a class act on and off the field. He will be truly missed on the sidelines and know that he will miss the sidelines as well. Best of luck to Corky and his family.
