Any information on this game? Thanks

Clay beat Estill 54-16 .

Thanks Estill Fan. I have faith in Mike Jones and know he may be going through some rough times right now but will get Estill back in the near future.

I hope so . Mike got a pretty good coaching staff with him this year and a real young team, mostly playing soph. on offense and defense. Strong 8th grade class coming up will certaily make the future look brighter for Mike.

Was this game played on Thursday evening? It says so on the KHSAA scoreboard and they said it on WLEX-18 sports Friday night as well. Any reason it was moved up a day?

Yes it was a thur. game. There was a festival this weekend in Machester.

Estill County football has been down for the last few years. It's good to hear that help is on the way for Estill.

Yeah I hope so to . They've gotten away from the old double wing and are throwing the ball more, but I swear sometimes I miss the old fight in the phone booth off.

I myself have faith in Mike Jones. I know how hard it is to build consistency in Estill County and appreciate his hard work. You doubters seem to keep forgetting about 5-5 in 02 and 8-3 in 03. Not to mention #1 in the state in rushing both years. If you think he can't coach ask Russell about 2003. That was first success since 95. We are starting 8 sophomores this year. Our time will come again.

Surley the pigskin isnt taking the place of the roundball in Richie Farmer country?

These kids here in the mountains are just now starting to figure out that a 6'2" 250 pounder needs to be on the football field instead of dreaming about draining the 3 ball.

I for one certainly miss the days when he could do both. The time before year-round AAU and full time weight training.

Tall Trees why you always raggin on Jonesy. Tall Trees fall hard.....
