  1. The Jtown and Trinity rumors turned out to be true on all their transfers. They seemed to weather the media and haters. Maybe Scott Co is the next option. Manning, Beckham, Ivey, that would be an unbelievable trio. Scott Co will be pretty darn good without him.......but with him that will sell out a several away gyms and pretty much put them on the road next season.
  2. Fall on the ball!!!!!!!! Great coaching. Fall on it at the 45 yards line or watch it roll to the 3 !!!!!!!!!!!
  3. Can anyone roll that beautiful bean footage.......please
  4. People see the last couple of games as some hope. To say that they are a mediocre team for Highlands ....thats best said at the end of the season. Maybe that Ryle is that good. It seems no one wants to give people their credit or make excuses. If Ryle gets a chance at Trinity then we can judge past teams. The Bluebirds are a very good team by any means. There is not a 5A team that can beat them. I thought Bowling Green would be there. I am not so sure now.
  5. Each school has a few idiots don't put everyone in that group please. Just a few can make everyone look bad.
  6. Highlands hasn't taken BP hostage its radical fans. I believe that if I was a diehard Bluebirds fan I would treat the obvious a little different. Since Highlands doesn't lose much it may be a little different to digest than the regular sports team fan. First of all losing isn't the end of the world. Not all northern Ky teams are second class citizens because they cannot beat you. Basketball is just something we do in the winter to pass the time away till spring practice. Writing the letter W on the schedule before the season starts is normal. Proper ways to tailgate is a required class at Highlands High School. Only winning by two points doesnt mean you really played a bad game. Having a little fun here. Its a few fans that give a program a bad name. We all know that Highlands has good teams, good kids and a good staff. Be humble, be courteous, and dont make excuses when you lose, and enjoy watching the kids they will be gone before you know it. People dont hate winners thay hate people who keep reminding them.
  7. Sorry... I didnt mean to point any fingers of wrongdoing. When I think football in Ky, I can only think of these three because they seem to have such an advantage over most of the schools. Highlands maybe a little less that Trinity and St X . Looking as an outsider not living in N Ky. It just amazes me that a school with less than 430 boys in the whole school can just kick the crap out of these big schools like they do on a consistent basis. How do so many talented boys live in that one district. Is it the coaching , the feeder system, what make this school so much better than 99% of the schools in this state. I love watching them play. I have been to several Florida High School finals in football. Im not saying Highlands is on that level but that are as close as we have around here and would do very well with a Florida high school 4A schedule. The questionable antics comment came from people who question the program. Back to the question of the thread.....let them play in what they want 4,5 or 6A. Wherever they are put they will be one of the top three every year.
  8. You said it...with all the questionable antics of Highlands ,Trinity and St X we all know a smack on the hand is less painful in the wallet. Highlands will go where they want to go and do what they want to do. Simple as that.
  9. Sorry Guys .....Left a team out!! Scott County showed this summer going 32-3 they miss the big names but not the talent. Super group of talented freshmen. Can play with anyone in the state. Tates Creek will be there in the end. Great coaching and a one two punch of Barksdale and Fucci make them dangerous at playoffs if they stay healthy. Bryan Station has the talent. Coach Allen will have to see who he can count on at the end of the game. If Evans can play under control and the point gaurd position can get some help. Look out! Lex Cath. Coach Salsman may have had lost some key players due to transferring but has plenty of kids that know how to win. Martin and Schuette will need to put up some big numbers for the Knights this year. Henry Clay has lots of young talent but may be to young. Tough city schedule and lack of size could limit the Devils. Keisling and Blackburn have to play big this year. Some eligibility issues are still in the air. Woodford Co new coach Hundley came in at the right time. Having a Jay Johnson gives you a chance every night. The Jackets need to find one more consistent scorer then look for some upsets in their favor. Lafayette is another young team. The Generals lost alot of scoring. Look for Jackson Davis to average 20 or more points a game this year. Coach Coldiron feels they will be a pretty good team by district. Madison Central is one team that will rely on youth. Hawkins and Taylor are going to special players. Look for the Indians to take their place back at the top after this year. LCA, Dunbar, Franklin Co, Frankfort, Sayre, Western Hills, Madison Southern,Berea, Model

  11. Money and facilities dont win games. Players win games. Clay Co just outplayed the Cards.
  12. The reason I posted this was that someone or some type of governing body has limited our kids the right to play basketball before a team has officially been picked or an official practice has begun. How does this rule benifit any kid in any way. Let the kid or parent and coach have the final say. If this rule could change Northern Ky as well as Louisville and Lexington could run some super leagues in the fall and we would sure get a better feel for the talent out there. They could do it like Indiana and I would be fine with that. No more than three kids from the same school team.
  13. Bylaw 8. Contestant On Other Teams, Post Season and All- Star Games Any student who after enrolling in grade nine (9) has been a contestant in football or basketball at any level (grades 9-12) and has eligibility remaining in that sport may not participate on any non-school sponsored team or in any all-star game in that sport or any variation of that sport from the first day of school through the last scheduled contest played in that sport (including KHSAA sanctioned post-season) by that school unless it has been sanctioned by the Board of Control. Following the team’s last scheduled game (including post season), there are no restrictions on play in that specific sport for the student-athletes. A rule that needs changing asap. This is another reason our athletes leave our great state for other options. In the state of Indiana you can play in events such as leagues that lets the athlete continue to compete in the off season. These leagues stop way before the official day of first practice for the athletes. I dont understand why the KHSAA has the control over ones child before a team has or may have been picked before Oct 15. As it is written its a rule that sidelines the athlete before the sport has officially began and limits his or her chances of getting better. After talking to many high school coaches most feel the same on this rule.
  14. Wow! I hope that doesn't make it to the girls board.
  15. The two Johnson kids (not related) are not coming to Georgetown. They have reloaded but with the kids that have been in the program for several years. They went 34-3 this summer. Two losses to Eastern and one to Lawrence North they should of won. This team is very quick and will score alot off their defense. May struggle at times in the half court. Thet are VERY young and thats whats scary. If Creek stays healthy this year they will push Scott Co. Of all the teams I saw this year in the 11th. These two are are a little ahead of Lafayette, Catholic, Station, and Henry Clay.
  16. 1 Jtown 2 Eastern 3 GRC 4 Scott Co 5 Warren Central 6 Trinity 7 Christian Co 8 Tates Creek 9 Lex Cath 10 Mason Co
