  3. Sounds like we are all a bunch of whiners!!!!!!! Whining about the whiners !
  4. Jeff Morrow makes all these look like choir boys.
  5. I can honestly say Coach Hicks has been really laid back the last two years.
  6. GRC will hand out alot of these beatdowns this year. I would say a team like Central will give it back to them next year considering how young they are.
  7. They are the best of thier class. What does it prove they won the games they were suppose to win. Why does NCC need to play them. I think the staff at Highlands doesnt see it that way either. I am not sure if I ever saw the Campbell Co trophy.
  8. For all you doubters...Highlands may have not been the Highlands of old. They are still the best in this mediocre class.
  9. Could this possibly hurt the distribution of the good kids enrolling at Trinity or St. X in the future. It will tougher to tell the kids that you have a legitimate shot at state every year. From the many games I attended of the St X Trinity regular season game, most of the alumni I talk to would rather win this game anyway.
  10. They made money on the event.....For the middle schoool girls final the gate for those two games made at least $5500. At the end of the day they do pretty well. Each school presale their tickets. It does cover their expenses.

  12. This was some of the teams that Scott Co played last year, they earned their stripes last year. I thought this may have been the toughest high school schedules I have ever seen for a KY team. Looks like Clark is ready to let the country see what they have. I have been to the Beach Ball at least several times its a great atmosphere. Rooms are cheap this time of year. Its a great time. Whats great about that tourney most of the teams in it are on the same level as Jtown. Hope you guys do well. All the games are live also. Norcross,GA St. Francis, MD Wheeler, GA Bishop Gorman, NV Cedar Hill, TX George Washington WV Roger Bacon OH Balou DC Thats not counting Clark Co twice against Ballard and T Creek, Butler,Lex Cath
  13. As you know people hate winners unless its your team. So you must be doing something illegal since you win all the time. Your team has the advantage because you get to have kids come from everywhere! Or, how do you guys get all those transfers. I guess its ok if the KHSAA saids it is. I dont buy the idea of the one local town Dairy queen is gonna make me a better team, it helps after the game when your hungry. It doesnt beat the big boys. Im tired of beating this dead horse. It is what it is. I dont care what you say football or basketball its all the same and make everyone play by the same rules. Everyone seems ok until the trophies are handed out.
  14. Is that pretty much your scenario for all sports. We will continue to use Scott County as the example because you guys seem to like this school so much. Since these schools the Trinitys and the St X are much better is because of their desire to win and the support the parents and alumni and their edge to attract players who wish to be on succeccful programs. So the transfers that Scott County had over the years may be the choice of parents wanting to get their kids in a program that has had success over the years and have the support of the community and the fan support. This has made the parents leave their old schools because they are unhappy. Because I would like to see if the Behanen to Bowling Green and Price and Kimbro to Jtown and Zollo to Clark and of course the transfers Scott Co got two years ago are ok. So it could be the schools were not up to par as far as their support of their team and that was why they left. I dont think the Scott co school system is hurting for money. They seem to have alot of community support. I really see why kids transfer go to Lex cath or Scott Co. Fayette co midddle school sports may be the worst in the state. So is basketball and football under the same scenario you used. This is good to iron out. I have most of the beliefs you do. It just seems that not everyone treats both sports the same. So is a kid moving to a private school to play football any different that a kid tranferring to school to play basketball if both examples are legit. I love your post Jim....it allways seems to get things rolling.
  15. Birdsfan do you agree with Jim and do you believe the that the public schools are their own problem. Jim talks about econmic situation. The problem is I can't afford to send my son there and I want to. So you do not think Scott Co or Ryle support your team. You are setting there making excuses for the private schools. So let me see if I get this, so you are saying that I am making excuses and I am whineing about Scott County's perceived disadvantages in football is awful disingenuous when you consider how the hoops program is run there. So your are saying that St X and Trinity are running their programs like Scott Co basketball and thats OK. So maybe if the Grant Co and Dayton basketball communities get behind their team they would be better. Just look at what your saying and look at the whole picture.
  16. Could not be said any better....thanks. Trinity and St X have nothing to do with community its a network. The community meaning the whole city of Louisville because they do not have a district per say. Once again I have nothing bad to say about any of the schools because its where I go to see good football. It is what it is. The KHSAA sets the rules and we must abide by them. How many chances to do a Ryle or Scott Co get this chance. Very few chances and the communities are supportive and they teams work hard. Maybe one of the worst St X teams in the last ten years didnt have much problem with the the city of Louisville. Its just another whole level that the public schools in Kentucky cant create.
  17. Well lets see 6 million more people than Kentucky...Larger Metro areas with larger populations. Lots more private schools. So that could be a watered down considering who you are playing. Kentucky has five serious private schools St X , Trinity, Highlands and Cov Cath and Lex Cath and the last two have been unable to get some good looks at some area middle school kids of late thats why the last few seasons have been down, but still good teams. You can't compare KY to Ohio because there is no comparison. I do believe that they need to rotate the playoff matchups. You can work very hard... your only as good as your talent. Just ask the big boys. Take a Ryle, Simon Kenton, Scott Co. Male, Henry Clay, you got the real good six players. The other guys has got the real good 15 players and they sure didn't go there because of the good woodworking class. There is no doubt those kids bust their but at those private schools. The public schools work hard also. In Kentucky we just dont have the talent in the public school system. It takes an extremelly talented class to bring down the big boys. You can argue all day....Ky and Ohio football they cannot be compared. Yeah.... I said Highlands....
  18. This topic could of waited till next Saturday morning boss......at least let us all three have some type of hope.
  19. If your trying to make friends up north its not working.
  20. Batting is an intentional act that involves slapping or striking the ball with the arm or hand. Any forward pass in flight may be batted in any direction by an eligible receiver. Eligible offensive players may not bat a backward pass in flight forward. A ball in player possession shall not be batted forward by a teammate. All defensive players (always eligible) can bat any pass in flight in any direction. Illegal batting carries a fifteen (15) yard penalty. Please explain. What is "illegal batting"?
  21. The first two days at Scott Co are loaded. This event lasts for three days. http://www.ihigh.com/racingtotherim/article_32521.html
