  1. I think that it is time for the players to finish a WHOLE game and develop that killer instinct. They need to finish what they start......very simple. They get the lead and then led their opponents back into the game with turnovers and poor shooting. I still believe but do they??
  2. Due to cancellations.....Scott will play Newport Central Catholic at Campbell Co High School today at 4:30 pm in the Desert Classic. New Cath and Scott's opponents cancelled giving them this opportunity to play. Any thoughts on this match-up??
  3. Due to the weather, the schedule has been revised for the basketball games at Campbell County High School for the Desert Classic. 11:15 Calvary Christian vs St Patrick 4:30 Scott vs Newport Central Catholic 6:15 Campbell Co vs Newport 8:00 Pendleton Co vs Highlands All day admission is $5.00.
  4. I am sure that it will...I think that is the goal and why these games were moved to allow for that repair to begin.
  5. This week...there is minor water damage to the gym floor at the middle school. Seems like at the 7th grade championship game the Camels team won, remained unbeaten at 29-0 and dumped the water cooler over their coach's head in celebration. Feel sorry for the boys, must of thought they were at a football game and emulated what they saw on the TV! All games were moved to the Campbell County High School gym for $5.00 all day admission: 11:15am St. Patrick vs Calvary Christian 1:00pm Deming vs Williamstown 2:45pm Scott vs Bracken County 4:30pm Harrison County vs Newport Central Catholic 6:15pm Campbell County vs Newport 8:00pm Pendleton County vs Highlands
  6. All games have been moved to Campbell County High School due to minor water damage to the gym floor at the middle school.
  7. Yes of course! Come spend the day at Campbell County Middle School and see great basketball. One price of $5.00 gets you into all games.
  8. Any details?? Hope they had better officiating then last year's 10th region freshman tournament game between Mason and Campbell.
  9. Great insight.....you are so right. No proven center. If anyone can get them ready for March it is Reitz.
  10. Thanks Old Soda...I tried to forget already the loss last night!
  11. Franzen will make things happen. The official in the JV game knew that and effectively took him out of the game. He is a spark! Not afraid of losing, great kid!
  12. The Camels you watched last night were not the Camels we have seen all year. They were sleep walking and played very flat. I will give Boone credit though they did what they had to do to win. I would imagine that was one of their best performances this year. The officiating was suspect BUT that is not what caused the defeat for the varsity Camels. The 9th region should open up their wallets and pay for another official per game though, I think that would help with some of the calls or no calls. Good job Boone, come on Camels, let's play to our potential EVERY night.
  13. No sour grapes but.............the four "missed" goaltending calls against Mason in regulation really hurt the Camels. And Brett White was fouled on his three point attempt late in regulation but once again no call. I know I have a purple heart but even some Mason Co faithful around me stated the same. You may not call one goaltending but four! Marcus Clines fouled out mid 4th quarter with 6 points which also really hurt the Camels in OT. Great game for Brett White and Kenny Walker. The Camels are improving every game.
  14. There is a good group of Sophmores at Campbell Co including Jon Verst, Andy Franzen, Ryan Eten, Jordan Parks and Brian Sauerbeck who all get varsity minutes. Watch out for Andy Franzen a real scrapper, great speed and a nose for the ball. Andy scored 26 points in the JV game against Pendleton Co most of them by beating the defense down the floor. As someone said...you can't teach speed.
  15. The game was fairly even at half, I agree with the second half but at half the stats were almost even. I give the Cats credit for a great second half. The Camels have had several players with the flu and they are just not up to full speed yet, that was apparent in the second half. Elliott is the real deal, no answer for his play from the Camels last night.
  16. They Camels played some D last night, many steals by the Camels and poor shooting by the Bears.
  17. Old Soda is right, these are teams we play every year. But it can only make you better for when it really counts.
