Head Coach Openings
Nice info 6th Region guy! It just goes to show you how difficult it is to find a good coach and keep them. The expectations are higher than ever before for coaches on the court and in the classroom. We expect HS coaches to coach like they are college coaches, but pay them a part-time salary. It is a shame how our schools, parents, and communities treat HS coaches.

Walton Verona 64 Anderson County 47 (8th Region)
Great performance by the Lady Bearcats. They executed their game plan and did not panic when Anderson Co. made their run. Then they closed out the game by making their free throws. Great job to the players and staff!

Overall assessment of officiating in the state?
Listen i have been known to yell at officials and complain about them. However, i want to defend them somewhat in this thread. Part of the problem in today's game is the way that the game is taught. In the past you had teams that passed the ball and ran offense and let the offense create a shot opportunity. This allowed for time to pass between whistles. In today's game EVERYONE is lowering their head and driving to the basket. This causes a lot more contact and a lot more tough calls on either block/charge/ or no call. Honestly, the referees could blow their whistle every position. Then we would all be complaining that they don't let the players play.

Next District Realignment?
I am not saying to create another region. What i am saying is that you could shift the alignment of the teams to create 2 regions that were primarily in Northern Kentucky.

Next District Realignment?
There are currently 19 teams in the 9th region. You could take all 4 Campbell Co schools, and Scott High from the 10th, and take Simon Kenton, Grant Co, Walton-Verona, Williamstown from the 8th and you are at 28 teams. You could then take 4 more teams and have 2 16 team regions right here in Northern Kentucky. Possible candidates could be Pendleton Co., Gallatin Co, or head down the double A and pick up Bracken Co and Augusta.

I have seen it, but cannot share it.

Walton Verona 52 Grant County 51 (Overtime) 32nd District Semi
He could have also called a technical on the home crowd for running onto the floor as the horn sounded. If you want to go by the book.
-
Walton Verona 52 Grant County 51 (Overtime) 32nd District Semi
The other two officials were running off the floor in the video and had to stop when they heard his whistle blow. If they are running off the floor then how can they justify putting time back on the clock???

Sorry PP1. I am still upset over the call. I think it was the most outrageous, unnecessary technical that i have ever seen. I am still made about it and the team i was rooting for, won.

Dont try to paint the kid who got the technical as a bad kid or that he was taunting. He has played his entire career and last night was the first technical, he has ever received. He was celebrating a victory in a win or go home scenario and did it maybe 1 second early. If he wanted to rub it in, he could have went in and shot the lay-up. He knew that wasn't the right thing to do and curled out towards his bench and bounced the ball hard. It was a bogus call.

Question: If the player is dribbling down the floor like this one was last night and throws the ball up into the air in celebration. Is it any different? I have seen on multiple occasions players sling the ball up into the air before the horn sounds. Is that a T, also?

52-50.

he did a high hard dribble as he was pulling away from everyone. No one within 15 ft. The ball might have bounced 10 ft high off the dribble.

I have to ask. How many times at the end of the game have you seen a player throw the ball high into the air before time expires? How is this any different?

South Oldham 79 Walton-Verona 55
South is a very good team. I enjoyed watching them play. I am confident that the Bearcats can get back on track and make a nice run to end the season.

Walton-Verona 65 South Oldham 41
Nice team win for the Lady Bearcats. Congrats to the team and Coach Clink!

Walton-Verona 61 St. Henry 55
Good win for the Bearcats.

Lloyd 71 Walton-Verona 55
Actually the tiebreaker used was points scored against the other 2 teams. Simon Kenton 94 Grant County 85 Walton-Verona 82 I personally don't like this as the choice for the tiebreaker, but that is what was used according to District Tournament notes.

Lloyd 71 Walton-Verona 55
Not a very good defensive performance by the Bearcats. Lloyd got some penetration and found shooters. I bet they hit 10 3's last night.

Lloyd 71 Walton-Verona 55
Which district? 32nd district is: Simon Kenton vs Williamstown Grant County vs Walton-Verona
